My Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 won't turn on and won't charge. Solved

Question

Hello,
I encountered a problem with my tablet. It's no longer charging and won't turn on; I've tried several solutions.
On/off for 30 seconds
On/off + volume (down) -> worked for 2 minutes and shut off again
On/off + volume (up)
Charged all night
Charged with the computer

It won't even charge anymore! Do you have any other solutions besides going to a repair shop?

It's the USB port that needs to be changed. That's the issue with current Samsung models.

You need to keep pressing the middle button while simultaneously pressing the on/off button.
If that doesn’t work, ask yourself if the charger is still functioning.
Otherwise, check with the store that sold it to you.

Hi, here are 3 solutions to follow in order for your problem, the 3rd one worked for me even though I had some hesitations about opening a tablet still under warranty:

1. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, release it, then press it briefly. If it was a display bug, the long press should have turned it off and the short press should have turned it back on.

2. If 1 failed: Try a hard reboot: Press volume up + power button + home button simultaneously for 30 seconds, if nothing appears, try the 3rd solution.

3. The last solution (the one that worked for me):

You'll need to open your tablet and follow the steps in this video; I'm leaving you this YouTube link (which is not mine). Important: when you plug your tablet back in, use the original charger that Samsung provided you. If it still doesn't work, contact customer service...

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 and my son... well, he's my son: he destroys everything.
The tablet wouldn't turn on and wouldn't charge, and even though I held the "on/off" button for 2 minutes, I still had nothing.

First suggestion:
Try holding the button down for more than 30 seconds.

Second suggestion: do like me: disassemble the tablet.
For mine, I slid a thin blade between the edge (gray) and the screen, little by little, making progress by pushing the blade out each time.
Locate the battery connector; it's near the connector (there's a little tape on it) and disconnect it.
Reconnect, close it up, and plug in the tablet: it worked for me!

Hello everyone

I confirm that the manipulation also works on the Galaxy Tab 4 10 inches.
I followed the tutorial from the video. Disassembling the cover, removing the power connector. I had to do the manipulation twice and it worked. The first time, the screen kept flickering on and off.
Now everything is fine :)

I may have found a solution that does not require opening the tablet

I have two tablets that experienced the same issue (iPad 2 and Samsung TAB3)
I was about to open these two tablets when I had the idea to check the current provided by the charger (which I believe is a 2A)

To do this, I used a "USB detector"... It's a USB stick that is inserted between the charger and the charging cable. It indicates the voltage at the output of the charger and also the current - I found this stick in Asia....-
So I used this stick... and to my surprise, the current showed 0.02;;; and suddenly 0
I decided to turn off the tablet and immediately turn it back on... still 0.02 and so on for a good ten times and I was surprised to see the current rise to 0.07..... by continuing the process the charging indication appeared on the tablet and the charging proceeded normally

NB. the cost of this stick -less than 6 euros-

Hello. I'm sharing this because it worked for me. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 was working perfectly, my girlfriend took a photo with it, put it down, and when she picked it up again, the tablet showed no signs of life. Black screen, wouldn't charge, total panic^^.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XpjKF5WzLE   After watching this video, I decided to try it. I connected my tablet to my PC, and there was no USB connection sound, I thought it was bad news, but I continued with the process anyway. I pressed the volume down button and the power button until my tablet finally turned on like magic. That's how I managed to save my device. Hope it helps. ++
