Xbox controller blinks twice

Hello,
I have a problem with my Xbox 360 controller: yesterday there was no issue and today there is no power—the controller blinks twice and then turns off. I plugged in the charging cable; it works when plugged in, but as soon as I unplug it it turns off. What should I do because I can't play with the cable ?????

    console powered on -> press and hold the Xbox Guide button on the controller until the controller turns on -> press the console’s connect button then release
    after 20" press the controller's connect button again and release when the lights around the console's power button stop flashing, the controller is properly connected
    if Xbox S it’s a number that determines the controller’s position
    on the Xbox E still slightly different
    that said it happened to me mainly when wireless, but also once with a cable, and it was the cable that was not good
