Xbox One controller refusing to connect

Hello, I'm contacting you regarding a problem with my Xbox One controller, let me explain:
I bought an Xbox One yesterday, so I set up the console and completed the update and everything was going fine. Then came the installation of the first game; I started the installation and it worked perfectly until 90%. Then the controller turned off and the installation was interrupted on the screen...
I tried to turn the controller back on; the light was flashing but never stayed on... I attempted the synchronization numerous times but nothing works...

Please help me, I didn't buy this for nothing :'(

    If there are people still experiencing the same issue: turn off the console by holding down the power button. Often, that’s enough to resolve this recurring problem.
