Although my TNT antenna is good, my Waltham wt2209 TV only records channels from 1 to 19, then from 30 to the end. There is a "gap" from 20 to 29!!! ?

I just saw on your profile that you're in Lille.
If that's still the case, your area has been covered with the new TNT channels since December 17, 2013.

If you haven't tried recently, you need to run a channel search on your TV (check your TV manual for the procedure).

Reception, viewing, or tuning issues with the usual so-called DTT channels:

Here are the 4 prerequisites that must be met in order to benefit from the 6 new HD channels via DTT (T = Terrestrial = DVB-T standard), totaling 25 free national channels in clear:

- 1. First of all, be within the coverage area of a TV transmitter or relay equipped with multiplex R1 to R8, noting that some regions are only served by R1 to R6. This very first condition applies to fixed residential reception and mobile TV.

- 2. Therefore, have access to the 8 usable DTT channels (level, BER, purity = no interference, attention to 4G LTE 800 MHz, but not only this GSM UMTS TETRA band...), produced by an individual (personal) UHF rooftop antenna, channels 21/60, standardized (indoor antennas have no guarantee).

Alternatively, be connected to the wall socket marked "TV" coming from a collective rooftop antenna; this common installation for the building must be up to standard = adapted to the frequency plan, filtering channels. In case one or more of the 25 channels are missing from the wall socket, contact the manager, trustee, HLM, condominium, owner... Do not intervene on the installation.

If there are no channels via the incoming socket offering the "Antenna Service" from cable, without subscription or paid bundle (e.g., Numericable cable network, etc.), contact your cable operator. Do not intervene on the installation. Same for TV offers via ADSL. (IPTV)

Returning to individual private reception, if there is a black screen, regardless of which free channels are affected, via a personal outdoor UHF antenna (for 1 TV, or several TVs, then via a splitter, sometimes assisted by an amplifier or preamplifier), contact your chosen antenna installer, or check your private installation, possibly modifying it to bring it up to the latest standards effective since 2012.

- 3. Have a television with an integrated "MPEG 4" tuner (all TVs marketed since December 2012 are required to have this, and those ≥ 66cm since 12.2009) or, if only with an MPEG 2 tuner, add an external adapter or a recorder, always MPEG 4. A television labeled "HD" means nothing and guarantees nothing...

- 4. Have correctly programmed and configured the television or compatible adapter or recorder (see the Memorization Research section of the user manual related to the model)

Also consult in this dedicated DTT forum other similar topics, diagnostic support for partial or impossible DTT reception, or look on Google for comprehensive and more technical files..

In case of partial or total access denial to the free French DTT channels in France, see the Digital Satellite TV solution (HD decoder standard DVB-S2/MPEG 4) "Fransat" and a dish pointed at Eutelsat 5WA at 5°W, which is the only subscription-free alternative recognized by the CSA (details in the "Satellite" forum) and this offer also operates throughout Western Europe. Fransat is also available on all televisions with an integrated satellite tuner, CI+ models released since 2012.

It's done! It works. On my flat screen TV from 2010, I couldn't see channels 20 to 26. Following the good advice from internet users, I bought a device + HDMI cable at Bricodepot (for example) = 30+10 = 40 €. I plugged it in and now I receive all the channels perfectly with the remote control for this device. Thanks, guys!!!
