no TNT channels from 20 to 29! Solved

Question

Although my TNT antenna is good, my Waltham wt2209 TV only records channels from 1 to 19, then from 30 to the end. There is a "gap" from 20 to 29!!! ?

I just saw on your profile that you're in Lille.
If that's still the case, your area has been covered with the new TNT channels since December 17, 2013.

If you haven't tried recently, you need to run a channel search on your TV (check your TV manual for the procedure).

Hello.

Are you sure these channels are being broadcasted by the TNT transmitter your antenna is pointed at?

These channels concern the "new" free TNT channels:
- 20: HD1
- 21: L'équipe 21
- 22: 6ter
- 23: Numero 23
- 24: RMC Découverte
- 25: Chérie 25
Channels 26 to 29 are not allocated to my knowledge.

It should be noted that the deployment of these channels on transmitters is still ongoing. (8 phases of deployment in total)

Phase 7 took place very recently (on January 21, 2014) and concerned the following areas: Centre region (excluding Indre and Loire and Loir and Cher served since March 26, 2013, and Eure and Loir served since June 11, 2013), Poitou-Charentes, Limousin, and partially the departments of Cantal and Dordogne.

Phase 8 (the final phase) scheduled for April 8, 2014, concerns the following areas: Auvergne region, the departments of Ardennes, Marne, Lozère, and parts of the departments of Aisne, Aveyron, Loire, and Ardèche.

I believe the TV is not full HD. Therefore, I cannot receive the 6 channels (20 to 26).
I will find someone who has a full HD or recent TV to do the test and confirm.
I live in Wattignies, and my antenna is new, and it has the transmitter right nearby! ...
However, my flat screen TV is from before 2012, a long time ago...
Conclusion: I consider the problem solved: no full HD channels, or change the TV.

Hello alwineD, look no further, you've found it, your TV is not full HD and the 6 new channels are broadcast in HD, which is why your setup detects them, but you can't display them. It's like Arte HD or TF1 HD, your TV should show you something like "unsupported format." There must be hundreds of thousands of us in this situation. The only solution: change your TV or alert a consumer association.

If you have an external TNT decoder not connected to the television, there is a good chance that you will not have access to the 6 additional TNT channels. The decoder must be labeled HD, meaning High Definition. In these conditions, check its manual in the specifications; it should state mpg4 and not mpg2. The device was originally designed to receive the 19 channels.
Otherwise, it is certainly possible, but you would need to access the software, which is not something everyone can do. So, in these conditions, it is preferable to buy another fully-equipped TV.
