Hello everyone,
Here I am, my name is Daniel, I'm an amateur DJ, just for parties with friends. I use a Hercules DJ MP3 E2 USB controller with an external 5.1 sound card and a Windows PC. My mixing software is Virtual DJ. I agree with you that my equipment isn't great at all; it's very low-end, but it's for fun. That said, everything works very well.
However, for New Year's Eve, we rented 1kW of HK AUDIO and I noticed that the bass wasn't hitting much, so I adjusted the settings on the subwoofer, but it wasn't amazing. The seller at the store told me that it was because I didn't have a mixing console. Is he right?
My question is: Can I use my USB controller and a mixing console in parallel?
A friend gave me a Vestax PMC 06 Pro. Is it good equipment? (It's quite old)
In any case, if yes, how should I connect everything together?
Thank you all.
Best regards,
DG

Good evening,
Answer to the question: Yes, you can connect a mixing table to a USB controller.
The rental company pulled a fast one on you, I have a HK Audio 600 W system and I can confirm that the bass hits hard; the audio card used with the Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2 may be of minimum quality, but you can tweak it with the controller and send out maximum bass. I use other controllers, but I also have the Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2, which does a decent job; connected directly to the HK LUCAS 600, it performs well.
Regarding the Vestax PMC 06 Pro A, it's gear that was considered decent in its time.
Here are the specifications:
http://www.aevas-sono.com/evas/pmc06proa-p-137.html
To connect all this gear:
- the DJ Control MP3 E2 connected to the PC
- the mixing table (Vestax PMC 06 Pro A) connected either to the PC or to the external sound card (choose the best card for the table, and the other for pre-listening with headphones).
- the mixing table (Vestax PMC 06 Pro A) connected to the amplification system (home cinema, stereo system, powered speakers, etc.)
The evolution of the system is the purchase of a controller with an internal sound card like the Hercules RMX: https://fr.audiofanzine.com/petites-annonces/?q=hercules+rmx&min=&max=&zc=&sort=date&order=desc<=&lg=&distance=0
A three-way amplification system like the HK Audio LUCAS is simple to set up, easily transportable, and can be complemented by a second amplification system (active speakers) to increase power or cover a larger area.
Here are some good deals:

I remain available for further information, best regards...
