Hello,
1) I have a problem with my table, I don't understand how the bpm works? I press the button several times and it changes to a weird number, the bpm counter is supposed to count bpm, right!!!

2) I'm looking for how I can connect to my PC, I have a USB input but it doesn't work!!!!

Thanks for shedding some light on these two issues

See you
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6

Hello everyone, I also have a GEMINI CDMP 6000. For the BPM, you have to input it yourself. First, you need to turn it on, then you enter the BPM and tap on each kick, and it will display the BPM. To connect it to your computer, you need a Jack>RCA cable; plug the RCA side into the RECORD inputs of the mixer and the Jack side into the MIC input of your computer. You then just need to make a few adjustments on your computer with the sound (Control Panel --> Sound --> Recording) if you want to record. I hope I’ve helped you a little!

Apparently, we've found a specialist among us!! I have a Gemini CDM-3610 and I can't hear anything when I plug it into the computer. Yet I've connected it to the 'micro' input and I tried to find the right setting in the control panel. Still nothing. What am I forgetting?

A specialist maybe not x)
I had the same issue! Some computers have this, when you go into the sound settings in the control panel, in recording, you set the speaker settings and you have the sound card level, which is muted by default, you turn it up. But I didn’t have that and if you don’t have that either, try selecting "Line" as default in recording (Control panel - sound - recording). If you can’t see it, enable disabled and disconnected devices. If it's still not working, download the "PowerMixer" software and enable MIDI. I did that and it worked but I’m not sure if it’s thanks to that. Record with Audacity, it’s free. If you have distortion, go modify the mic settings (yes it's not default but you need to change the levels) and set the mic level to 5 and the gain to +0. Then go to the Line settings and set it to 6. This way the "Line" level takes precedence without distortion. Don’t turn the bass up all the way on the mixer, nor the treble, and neither the main sound (I can’t remember the name^^), it will have better quality. Don't disable "Mic", or else it won’t work anymore. I hope I answered your question, I found this answer after months of research. If you don’t understand something, ask me! But if after all this it’s still not working, I don’t know if I can help you.

Hi Olivier, quick question, we can't connect two computers to the CDPM 6000, right? Because I would like to connect one per deck and act as if I had a CD per deck, except it would be computers instead since there were two USB outputs, I thought it might work, but I'm afraid of frying everything. What do you think?

I have the same issue, the BPM shifts even though they are perfectly aligned ='(

With these turntables, the alignment is difficult; the best solution is to install software like Virtual DJ and use the BPM provided by the software.

Salut Oliver, pour être franc, moi je fais confiance à mon oreille, et la structure du pitch va aider, mais c'est vrai que ce n'est pas un truc exact, c'est pour ça qu'il faut faire des corrections avec le jog.

Hello, I bought a Gemini CDMP 6000
I had the same problem, and on top of that when it heats up a bit,
the whole left side goes out of whack
when we press play, the track changes, the pitch lights up and turns off by itself
when we change tracks, the scratch activates
sorry '' TIGRENOIR'' I have no answer for you
but if anyone has this kind of problem and has found a solution, please let me know

thanks in advance and happy mixing to everyone

Hi there... I also have a CDMP 6000, it’s already the second time it’s come back from customer service... it’s driving me crazy and it’s malfunctioning again.. just like you.. the pitch that adjusts itself, the jog of the files acting up.. the cue going haywire.. anyway.. I really feel like reporting where it came from.. apart from that, I can’t recommend anything else lol ..

RIP CDMP 6000, really not reliable.

These turntables work very well when they are well-ventilated, but for the pitch, you can activate and deactivate it three times in a row, and it should work normally. Also, try to cover your turntables when you’re not using them to prevent them from getting too dusty.

No, not yet. I brought the table back to my dealer, and now I'm waiting for him to contact me.
But given the problems in Paris at the moment, he told me it would take some time.
If you have this kind of problem, let me know.
Thanks.

Hi Oliver, thanks a lot for these details,
but one question, what do you mean by "encode yourself"?
You need to open it, and normally it should show you the current bpm, right?
Isn't the bpm weird?
Thanks in advance and happy new year to everyone!

No, when you open it, let's say you're playing a song at 128 bpm (but you don't know it), to find out it's 128, you press the BPM button on every kick of the song and it will display the bpm. What I do is I burn my CDs by bpm so I don't have to encode it myself.

Hello Olivier-twix, I see that you know quite a bit about the Gemini. If I may, I would need 2 or 3 tips as a beginner in mixing. I bought a Gemini CDMP6000, which I would like to connect to my Mac to manage it, for example, with Virtual DJ or Mixvibes, etc. But it's impossible to get it to work. I'm not trying to bother anyone, but when I manually beatmatch the tracks, the music is synced for 5 or 6 seconds and then becomes out of sync, as if the BPM is drifting... :'(
That's why I would like to manage it with software. If anyone could spare a few minutes to help me, it would be really kind of you.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the tracks are at the same BPM? If not, I've put the answer to your question below, but you can't find asio4all on Mac. Try searching online for software similar to asio4all; sorry, I can't help you more. Otherwise, I don't do music production; I prefer using CDs, I think it sounds better :P So make sure your tracks are at the same BPM, try with two at 128. Don't forget to sync with the jog or pitch bend xD If it doesn't work, search online like I said to find software similar to asio4all.

The BPM is the same (135) but the second one keeps drifting... The pitch is necessarily different, one is either higher or lower than the other. I’m giving you my email address to discuss this further if you don’t mind clement.lombard.cl@gmail.com
2nd solution: I might be going about this wrong too...

Thanks a lot anyway oliver-twix for helping me out.

Some tracks are sometimes at 135.1 BPM; if you don't work perfectly on the software, it creates discrepancies... the best thing is to check with VirtualDJ if you have it.

Yes, I have it (I actually wanted to connect it with my Gemini, but the store where I bought it just told me that it was impossible to manage the Gemini through software.
- A little beginner's question: if I have 2 tracks with a BPM of 130, one with Pitch 0 and the other with Pitch +2.5, does that pose a problem? Because it's often the case for me that the BPMs are identical but the Pitch is never the same.

Hi Oliver
oh yeah I tried it, let me tell you something, I prefer
to do it the old way, meaning by ear
because it's not that easy
but okay, get yourself sorted when it comes to
Gemini, does it help you with the construction or what
in any case, thanks a lot, and I won't hesitate to contact you again
for more info

Hello everyone, I also have a CDMP 6000 and I have Virtual DJ on my Mac. Does anyone know how to set it all up? (I followed the installation to the letter: Jack/RCA connection to Input but unfortunately, nothing works) =( Thank you in advance.

There’s more to do than that. Download "ASIO4ALL" and configure it according to your audio settings, select "Line" by default in the sound settings, and when opening Virtual DJ, go into options and under MIDI, select the type of mixer and choose ASIO4ALL as the sound card.

To support Oliver's statements, for example, if you're playing a track with a BPM of 124 and you want to mix it with a track with a BPM of 126, you decrease the pitch of the incoming track by -1.6%
but if you want to bring in a track of 124 with another of 135, well good luck
you need to lower the 135 and raise the 124, without altering the track
so in summary, 1 BPM for 0.8%
Have fun and give us your best mixes :-)))))

They won't have the same pitch then??
I set my music to a BPM of 124 and pitch at 0%, then I want to bring in my new track, I lower my pitch by -1.6% but still keep my BPM at 124?

My music lines up for 4 seconds and then we can hear that the bass isn't in sync anymore! :'(
It drives me crazy, my CDMP 6000 must have a problem, it has to, I'm doing everything right....

Forget the BPM function. FORGET IT! It will mislead you. I will send you an email, dj cléem, to explain everything. And Nour Bousnina, 1 BPM does not exactly correspond to +0.8%. For example, to increase by 2 BPM, sometimes it's +1.6% but sometimes it's 1.5%. Be careful with that, just trust the increase or decrease of 2 BPM.
