Hello..!??
I have a HP computer (home edition Vista 64 bits) and I can't find the driver for my camcorder, the USB port is not automatically recognized, and the driver provided (image mixer 1.7) with the camcorder is not recognized.
Can you give me a solution to use it and make my movies now that I have the time.
Thanks to everyone who can help me.

Transfer of mini DV cassette
Transfer mini DV cassette to laptop or desktop PC, the laptop or desktop must have a FireWire or iLink input (IEEE1394 port), it’s the same thing; perform the transfer with a video editing software such as Windows Live Movie Maker or iMovie (Mac) or any commercial editing software. The computer will recognize the camcorder automatically for capture
An internal IEEE1394 (FireWire iLink is the same) card can be easily installed on a desktop PC
If it's a laptop that does not have this input, a second solution is to check if the laptop has a side slot for "express card" (PCMCIA) protected by a dummy plastic card. There are FireWire express card adapters available:
https://www.amazon.fr/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=firewire+expresscard&tag=googhydr0a8-21&index=aps&hvadid=9215056378&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=101097741010537552&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&ref=pd_sl_6kh108ih4c_b
Third ultimate solution: you need to buy an analog to USB converter box
This box or USB stick handles the conversion of "analog stream into digital" and you connect the box to the computer via a USB cable. The file is converted to MPEG2, a format easy to burn and compatible with all players, with the possibility of editing using "Studio"
Connect the box and camcorder with an S/VHS cable recommended or composite (less good) (yellow RCA) and a cord for sound (2 red, white RCA). For the VCR, a scart connection with an adapter or cable with "out" direction is needed, or with an in/out switch output S/VHS or composite yellow RCA (less good) plus sound, two RCA outputs red and white
I recommend the Dazzle box, either "Recorder" or "Video Creator, Platinum" depending on one’s needs
The price of the software provided with it makes the product interesting
There are cheaper products, but be cautious as they can lead to troubles
The image quality can only be judged on the TV screen once the film is burned

Thank you for your replies, I have chosen the solution that seems easiest for me and I ordered the DAZZLE converter box, it appears to be out of stock in several places except on AMAZON. However, I would like to know if it's mandatory to have the SCART socket or the cords (as it's not a VCR, but a camera).
Thank you.
Thank you.
