Hello,

under Windows 7, I used my camcorder. I had to reformat it and lost the driver. I've been searching for it, but I can't find it. It's a JVC GR DA20E. Does anyone have any idea how to recover it? I wrote to JVC, but they haven't responded.

Hello, regarding the subject, I commented on another post. If there is no FireWire IEEE1394 port on the PC, you need to use an analog-to-digital capture box. We recommend Dazzle

Thank you. I found a DV to DV cable, and the camcorder is recognized in the file manager. Now I just need to find capture software. I hadn't used it for a while, and I kept trying to use the cable that came with it.
Thank you.

Hello,

See:

and:

It's probably the Firewire card driver that you uninstalled. Once restored, it should recognize the camcorder (I'm not 100% sure, but this step is essential anyway, unless you used the partition or the manufacturer's Windows installation DVD for your PC.

Moreover, if you kept the DVD that came with the camcorder, it might be there since I can't find it on the JVC website.

Best regards

Hello.
I will check, but the acquisition with this camcorder is done via the USB port. Moreover, my PC is old, Toshiba Qosmio.
Best regards.

My apologies, the JVC documentation I consulted indicated only a FireWire port on this model. You therefore absolutely need the driver, but it seems to be unavailable.

Hello Georges, a port fire is a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard of the PC, and the driver is attached to the card, of course.

No, I think I'm saying nonsense. It must not be the right cable. I'm going to look for it. Sorry.
