No sound recording Micro on Cubase 5

Hello everyone,
I have Cubase 5, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface, and an Audio Technica AT2050 microphone. When I plug my audio interface in USB 2.0 on my computer, and the microphone in XLR on the front panel of the interface, despite Cubase being configured for my interface and not ASIO, it records nothing, no waveform, it disappears when I stop recording. I’m quite a beginner in DAW and on Cubase and don’t really know how to configure the buses, could someone help me?

Hi there!
Simple question:
Have you thought about activating the phantom power?
Otherwise, in Cubase, press F4 to bring up the VST connections window.
This window lets you properly “route” your inputs and outputs (among other things).
On this page, go to Inputs and make sure that input 1 of your audio interface is properly “routed.”
Next, create your mono track and in the main menu of your track (on the left, the tab with your track name) there is a place to configure your track’s input and output; select input 1 of your audio interface and outputs 1/2 (your L/R).
I hope that’s clear for you; explaining it in text isn’t easy...
