Hello everyone,
I have a Lenovo Z500 touch laptop for a month now.
Its performance was good until the screen turned dark.
Do you have any solutions to give me?

Hello,
I have the same brightness issue as you, if I touch the adjustment button when for example I'm on the desktop, the brightness suddenly drops!
So I've noticed that the brightness adjustment can only be done when you power on your PC and it says "LENOVO" in big on the screen (you have to be quick)
There you go, I hope I’ve helped some people, but I think it's a driver issue. I need to check out LENOVO's support to see if they have any new drivers to fix this problem.-
THANK YOU BART, this problem happened to me 3 times at first, I thought it was due to my kids' mishandling while playing touch games, but yesterday, it happened just by brushing my hand over the keyboard to dust it... the first times, I reinstalled everything (days of hassle and wasted time). Yesterday, I came across your post, I tested reinstalling the drivers, etc., but nothing... I tried increasing the brightness at startup as BART wrote and miracle, it worked. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for this tip because I also had a problem with a sudden drop in brightness (as if the screen was stuck at the lowest brightness). I couldn't change it with the keyboard shortcuts. I'm on Windows 8.1. And miracle, I was able to increase the brightness at startup as described by BART. Thank you a thousand times.

Try a key combination for brightness; otherwise, try another combination to enable/disable the LCD screen backlight. Need help? Click here ===>https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_z500p500_ug_v1.0_july_2012_french.pdf ===> then click Ctrl+F ===> after that, enter enable/disable.

When the word LENOVO appears on the screen, you need to quickly press the light bulb+ button, for me it's on f12, and everything is resolved
I had this problem but it works with this procedure. -

It's your brightness that's low; look at your keyboard, there's a shortcut to increase the brightness!!

If you have Windows, use https://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche26848-wiziwyg.html

So do you have any answers? This post interests me as well because I have the same problem except that I've had my Lenovo Z500 Touch for now 3 months and suddenly this morning everything was fine and it became very dark and barely readable. So if someone has a solution.

Hello everyone,
For my brightness issue on the Z500 touch, after I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1, it caused a bug and I actually had to do a system restore and go back to Windows 8.
Moral: Don't download W 8.1, wait for the next update (probably .8.2?) -
You shouldn't update the video drivers, revert to the original version! The correct drivers are provided by Lenovo!
Hoping I could help some of you! :) -
Is it turning dark?? Black screen or has it just lost a bit of brightness?? Can you see anything on your screen?
