Hello,

I am reaching out because I have been unable to open a PDF (downloaded from Dawsonera) that is protected by DRM for some time now. However, I have all the necessary permissions...

When I try to open it with Adobe Reader, the software freezes before showing me the following error:

An error occurred during this operation. Contact an administrator if the problem persists.

(I feel like it doesn't even send a request to the DRM server!!!)

Foxit Reader indicates that it does not support this type of protection.

Have you tried with the PDF reader designed for eBooks?

  So we can assume there's a problem with this file... bad closure during a consultation or something like that...

  Yes, several times and with other PDFs from the site, always the same problem.
  
  On my school's internet connection (much less restricted than the one at my residence), I get this message:
  This computer must be connected to the network in order for you to open this document.
  Your offline opening rights have expired. Please check that this computer is connected to the network and that the Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management Server is functioning.

  Yesterday I had the same message at home as at my school. Today it’s back to the original message:
  An error occurred during this operation...
  
  However, the PDFs work perfectly on other devices (laptop).

  You are probably facing a rights issue due to DRM
  
  Generally, eBooks are valid for a single computer and rarely transferable (to prevent piracy)... or the rights are granted to a network provided you are connected to it.
