Conversion of .pvr video files

Good evening,
On November 12, I was asking how to convert video sequences recorded on USB sticks from my television to .pvr formats.
I received two responses, one from NDFuZe and the other from anicottedirgala.
I thank both of them!
By leaving a "comment" after each response, I thought I was extending the dialogue with these two interlocutors, but I am not sure if that was the right approach because I haven't heard back from either of them... (?)
To anicotta, I mentioned that from "Files Atoz" I arrived at "4 videosoft video converter ultimate," which tells me it does not recognize .pve files as input.
I remain at a standstill, but I still thank them for agreeing to help me!!

Hello,
PVR files coming from a television recording may be proprietary.
This means they can only be read on the device that made the recording, and therefore no conversion is possible because they are somewhat encoded.
I'm not saying that this applies to you, though...
In the other discussion you opened here, the software suggested by Anicottedirgala is available in a trial version (Free Trial), it seems. You could try it out, but it's up to you since I don't know this publisher.
Best regards

Thank you very much!
According to my television's manual:
“PVR (Personal Video Recorder) allows you to record non-encrypted TV programs”
Unfortunately, yes, I can only play these recordings on the television and not on the PC!
Previously, on the television that preceded this one, the recordings were ALIDVR and could be played and converted....!
The software suggested by Anicottedirgala does not support .pvr files, and the editor of this software confirmed it to me!
I will now look into jc80's response!
Thanks again!

If the files are not readable by any player on the computer, I'm afraid "it's cooked" :(
However, check if MediaInfo recognizes the file and provides the file characteristics; it's a small software that only does that.
Let me know if you want the extension of one of your files or its full name?
Also provide the model of your television, that might be useful, but you're not obligated to do anything here... ;)
Then, feel free to try all existing format conversion players, whether they're well-known like Format Factory, XMedia Recode, Freemake Video Converter, MediaCoder, SUPER, Avidemux, VirtualDubMOD if it's MPEG-2, etc., or lesser-known ones (TS-Doctor to name just one...) or even more exotic ones (but be careful with those that might install additional items!) to see if they could do it.
I saw this relatively old discussion (changing the extension, but do this manipulation on a copy to preserve the original file): https://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/VideoSon/Traitement-Video/probleme-avec-fichier-sujet_89267_1.htm
Good luck... with the tests if you go down this path.
PS 1: I had the opportunity to test your files from PVR recordings on a Thomson television that generated files in BIN, and despite testing everything I knew in terms of software or methods, I never managed to read them as they are encrypted :(
PS 2 (regarding your first discussion): the people responding on the forum are just volunteers, so they are free to follow a discussion or not. I can't count the number of times we (the regular forum contributors) responded to requests without ever receiving any feedback.

A big thank you to you, Ziggourat! You really dug into your documents!!
I took a look at the software you mentioned, but without success!
I believe you're right in thinking that "it's over." I'm going to stop this search here!
However, I will keep your messages with all your information that may be useful for other conversions in the future!!
That's very nice of you!
See you later, maybe!!

THANK YOU
1) avs4you.com is certainly good but does not take into account .pvr files
2) the site provided by oufti on 10/8/2005 might be the right one (?) I'm going there!!
Thanks!
Avous: "Thank you again!"
