Converting .pvr video files to other formats

Hello,
Recordings made on USB keys from my television are in .pvr format.
I would like to convert them to another format... How?
Is there a free software that allows the conversion of a pvr file?
I have found programs that convert .avi, .mov, .mp4,.... but not yet pvr....
