Shift key gets stuck Solved

Question

Hello,
here is my problem: if I use the key to switch to uppercase, it gets stuck, and I can't switch back to lowercase
that said, if I turn off my laptop and turn it back on, I am back in lowercase
if someone could help me because I'm very troubled for my work

Today while working on Excel on my Samsung Netbook, I simultaneously pressed several keys Shift Ctrl + and " (I was trying a shortcut that didn’t work). So I repeated the operation several times until I got a message from the computer saying something about having pressed a key too long on the keyboard.

From that moment on, everything got messed up: uppercase/lowercase keyboard was reversed, the mouse was selecting multiple documents on the desktop at once, etc. all the things you described before.

My solution (found by reading your comments): press both Shift keys at the same time (right and left of the keyboard).

I hope this will last and that you have also solved the problem.

I have been encountering the following issue with my keyboard for some time now:
it types in uppercase instead of lowercase
if I want to select a specific point on a page, it selects all the text that is before
when I need to click on "next" and it opens a JavaScript window, it no longer works

or another description of my problem:

uppercase makes lowercase and vice versa. For selecting an icon, it does the same thing as before with the text. The numeric keypad no longer works, and characters like "@" | # ~" do not work either. Using the back wheel launches a page ....

Oh, I have exactly the same problem as you!

It’s probably a virus because to write in lowercase, I have the Shift key activated (Caps lock on my keyboard is on) and when I want to open the "My Documents" folder, the mouse selects five different icons (and I just realized that the numeric keypad isn’t working anymore...) :S

Help, I'm fed up, thanks in advance...

Hello everyone,

I just read the messages, perhaps a bit late, but for me, my problem was resolved.
That being said, it's not a big deal.

Have you scanned your computer with anti-spyware to remove any possible infections?
Because yes, it could potentially come from an infection contracted while browsing the internet.
Once the scan is done, perform a system restore to a date prior to the problem, and if that doesn't work, insert your system software or try reinstalling your keyboard and mouse using your software.

I'm not a computer expert, but that's what I would do first.

This problem is related to Sticky Keys.
It occurs when you press the SHIFT key 5 times in a row.
Try it!
You will get a window that redirects you to the accessibility options. In the first section, you have the "Sticky Keys" option.
Click on settings and uncheck "Use shortcut" to avoid encountering the same problem.

The same applies if you hold down the SHIFT key for more than 8 seconds: this "activates Filter Keys which forces Windows to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes and slows down the keyboard repeat rate" (I assume this is for people who tremble a lot).
