Hello,
Is there any risk in removing the hard drive from my PC to put the one from the PS3 in the meantime to format the PS3 hard drive?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 22.0

You can put it in a second hard drive to format it with the programs from the first... Don't make a mistake...
You can also boot your PC with a live CD (like Puppy Linux) and use Gparted to format your disk... There's no need to know Linux.
And with this system, you can install only the disk to format without any other risks.
What's the goal...? To leave it on a PC afterwards or to return it to the PS3...?
Are you sure that the formatting for the PS3 is the same (check the forums)?

It's about returning it to the PS3! I've read on several forums that formatting is done in FAT32, but I'm definitely not a pro. The PS3 no longer recognizes the hard drive, so I'm trying this! Thank you for getting back to me.
