PS3 does not recognize external hard drive.

Question

Hello,
it doesn't recognize the external hard drive, yet a friend got it to work on another PS3 drive (Intenso 250GB). Thank you in advance.

It must be in NTFS  so it needs to be formatted in FAT32 to be recognized by the PS3    --  A crowded elevator will always feel different for a dwarf

Thank you, but a friend saw it working on a PS3. So I was told that I needed to go into the settings and change something, but I've already spent hours and it still doesn't work. Thank you in advance.

Plug it into your computer
right-click
properties

and tell me what it displays:

- FAT32
- NTFS

Thank you, but I have the manual and it doesn't say much; it just talks about external SD cards.
When I'm in the photos menu,
it offers me photo gallery or playlist, and with the cross, it doesn't do anything.

If you're in the photos menu
ok then if the key is visible it should be at the very bottom

so you don't see anything else
we agree?

Well, if it's in FAT32 and nothing else

then the only solution I see
is that you have another partition on it

some disks have a backup partition
in the very first partition (a few MB or GB)
and the PS3 only sees the first partition of a USB drive...
