Hello,
I know this issue has already been raised, but the responses haven't helped, so I'm going to recreate a topic.
For some time now, without any particular reason, when I open Google Chrome, this message appears: Unable to read your preferences. Some features may not be available, and changes made to your preferences will not be saved.
I created a new account with a different email address at @hotmail.fr, but it didn't work; the issue persists.
Well, I can still use Google, but I would still like to resolve this issue.
Thank you in advance :)

Close Google Chrome
Use the keyboard shortcut Windows + R
Enter the path to the appropriate directory in the address bar:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
Click on OK
In the directory window that opens, locate the folder named "Default" and rename it to "Backup default".
Close the windows.
Then open Google Chrome.
A new folder "Default" is automatically created when the browser opens.
To recover your bookmarks:
Copy the file "Bookmarks.bak" from the "Backup default" folder and paste it into the new "Default" folder.
Once the file is moved, rename it to "Bookmarks" to complete the transfer.
Recover your Favicons and passwords:
In the backup default folder, you have the files Favicons and Login Data.
Move them as well into the new Default folder.

Thank you very much, even though I couldn't follow the instructions to the end, the expected result has been achieved :)
Thank you very much!!!
