Hello,
My Google Chrome browser suddenly closed. I tried to relaunch it later, but it won't because chrome_elf.dll is missing. I reinstalled it, restarted, searched for the missing .dll but nothing works.
I looked on other forums, but there was no helpful answer. Some people had this problem while using the Emsisoft antivirus, which I used a while ago. I'm currently using Avast.
If anyone has an idea or even a solution, I would appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

Hello
This is a dll installed with a game or application etc. that uses Google. There are numerous variants, so there is no universal solution.
There could be a defective or incompatible file (a poorly coded site or an infected file can also be at fault). The path where the dll is installed looks like this:
C: \ users \ user \ AppData \ \ chrome \ local application \ 36.0.1979.0 \ chrome_elf.dll
Microsoft recommends disinfecting with various antivirus or antimalware for safety and then reinstalling the game.
The cleanup tool provided by Microsoft:

Check if the antivirus has blocked a site or put the dll in quarantine.
[[More risky: test without antivirus, all personal data must be backed up off the PC beforehand and one must be able to reinstall the PC. It is advisable to refrain unless good with computers]]
Test Google without any add-ons.
Optionally delete the currently present dll (with caution, renaming allows you not to lose the file just in case)
try reinstalling Google.
Reinstall each game or desired add-on one by one: normally each should install the dlls it needs. If the problem reappears, the last one is possibly at fault as it installs a version of chrome_elf.dll that is not suitable for another add-on (conflict).
