this is what I do.

once I have a black screen, I press ctrl alt del to open the task manager.
at the top, "file" and "run a new task"
I type "iexplore" to open internet explorer, it should open.
I go to google.fr and nothing else, and I type adwcleaner in the search, making sure to take the link from commentcamarche.net, and not another site.
then, I download adwcleaner, and I run it once the download is finished.
I do a scan and restart to finish the cleanup.
Windows should open without any problems.

then, I download malwarbytes, I do a full scan.

and that's all good.

A little tip for me, inspired by Maw888's solution: I managed to restart my computer correctly by holding down the Left Click and the Power Button.

I tried all the proposed solutions.. Nothing worked and when I pressed the power button, the computer wouldn't shut down but went into sleep mode... I did a manipulation.. Really by accident. So I'm not really sure it will work for you, but it did for me..

I pressed the power button and the left mouse click several times... I got a bit worked up on the power button... And poof, my little Asus restarted perfectly..

I don't know if it will help you.. It's a barbaric technique, not at all from an experienced IT person.. !

Good evening, I have a problem with my Sony Vaio mini, which is a year and a half old and no longer under warranty. It shows a black screen on startup after the small Vaio logo, with the mouse pointer visible. When inactive, the computer goes to sleep, and the power LED flashes red. It seems that on Asus, the F9 key always allows you to launch the internal recovery. To be verified. I also hope that you have created the 16 GB recovery USB drive recommended by Asus...

To recover the data, you need to use a Linux live CD and start it in "try" mode (not install). You may need to uncheck the "secure boot" option in the BIOS to launch it directly at startup.

Problem resolution, which usually comes from a virus:

Ctrl + Alt + Del Task Manager
File New Task
Type rstrui (do not put the exe, it won't work)
Then choose your oldest restore point and start the system restore.
