Hello
I've been working on a Word document for 2 months, I copied and pasted an image and a small text from the internet that I inserted into my doc,
then at one point Word asked me if I wanted to save my text in another format, but I can't remember what format!!
and I answered YES! like an idiot!!
when I closed and reopened it, nothing!
blank page!
yet it showed my 100 pages and my 350,000 characters!
I don't understand anything!
I've tried everything: converter, "save as" Word document.. I downloaded OpenOffice, Office 2013, etc.. but nothing works, my document remains desperately blank!
PLEASE HELP ME, I beg you!! it represents 3 months of work!!
thank you in advance

try to put it back in your old format, it might work!
your text is saved, it just can't be seen, if it doesn't work, all may not be lost but I don't have the answer

Reset it to its previous format? What do you mean? I've already tried but nothing works, it stays blank.
It displays in "RICH TEXT FORMAT," that's the rtf format, right?
I've tried converting it to Word but I can't manage to do it. -
Yes, I thought about that, I need to find a shop near me, but I really didn't think it would come to this!
Thanks anyway. -
Hi,
Don't you have a backup? -
my document has actually turned into a web page, it automatically saved in the USER/USER/DESKTOP files, and nothing else,
I only managed to make some symbols appear on the page, but no conversion possible!!
Is my file corrupted?
Is it worth paying a specialist? -
Hello,
To try:
right-click on your file, 'Properties', 'previous versions' tab

You should never reply to an unsolicited DM...
Well, that's done.-

If it's not confidential, you can always upload the file to cjoint.com and paste the provided link here. (the .doc or .docx version, before you mess around with it and save it in all possible formats, zipped if necessary).
In private message if confidential (you need to be registered)
We'll see if there are any recoverable things in it.

Hi,
ultimate question, was the original file (before the mistake) saved in the documents or on the desktop, or at some point was it saved on the desktop?
See you later

I don't know if it can work, but call a professional, ask them if it's possible to recover your old file, I'm not really sure it can work, but it's worth a shot, if there's a cyber café nearby, or call a large specialized store!!!
