Hello everyone, I legally downloaded the game Farcry (2004) that my cousin recommended to me. I went through all the forums, even this one where there are at least three posts about it, but can I get the game in French please? Because the years have passed and the posts are a bit less recent now, so please do you know a patch that could put it in French, at least subtitles because I totally don't care about the French voices, but at least I want to understand what the guy is saying and the storyline!!!

PS: my cousin who has the game on CD in French version is going to try to give me his "language" folder so I can replace mine, will that work???
I also found this patch: https://traductionjeux.com/far-cry.html#.UY1r1kq730E where only the text changes but it's better than nothing. Unfortunately, I can't install it because the instructions are poorly explained, could someone tell me where to put the files please????

Patching a game to change its language is usually illegal, but whatever.
Changing the language folder is very likely to work, even though it's not certain that the interface will be translated as a result.
I don't have a good connection at hand, so I can't download the patch you sent me to guide you through the process.
How does it look?-
Well, I have a folder with xml files, but first I'm looking in the different folders with the names of the different missions of the game and I quickly see that there are no xml files in those folders, so I don't know which ones to delete to replace them with the xml files from the patch. And in the language file, only the voices and the videos are in there, so I don't know where to put these files.
As I said, the files with the same names as the different folders in the main 'level' folder. So here's an example of a level folder that has the same name as a file:
So in the "boat" folder, there is:
- a layer folder that contains various files (no xml): three files in lire and one in grp, I think that corresponds to the music and sound of the mission.
- And without a folder, we have a file in cry, a file in lua, two files in pak, and a file in dds.
However, I don't even know if the level file contains the text of the game, and I don't know where to put these pesky folders that the patch gives me.
