SD card access failed, Nintendo 3DS

Hello,
I just bought a Nintendo 3DS and upon turning it on, I get the error message "Failed to access the SD card. The saved software on the SD card cannot be displayed." The SD card is recognized by my computer, and if I put in another SD HC 4GB card, I get the same error message. I can't find anything online or in the DS manual.
The SD card is, of course, not locked.
Configuration: Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5) / Chrome 26.0.1410.65

No, the games are working very well, the 3DS does not detect the SD card.

I did something that made the SD card recognized: I pressed the power button, it brought up the sleep menu (with the gray background). I didn't turn off the 3DS, I had the SD card write-protected in the slot, I removed it from the slot, I unlocked the SD card, I put it back in the slot, and then the 3DS recognized it.
