Good evening,
I own an Acer Aspire 7250-E306G50Mn
equipped with 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and an AMD E300 processor...
more details here: https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/ordinateurs-pc-portables/acer-aspire-7250-e306g50mn/f-1070992-lxrl6ef001.html#tabtechnicaldescription
The problem is that this processor is seriously lacking in power for the 6GB of RAM present, and I would need more performance, at least 2GHz in dual core if possible... The chipset is: AMD A50M.
I should mention that this is a laptop, and I am aware that the operation is delicate and expensive...
Thank you in advance for your responses,
Thibaut.

    1. It is not the clock frequency of a processor that defines its performance.
    2. Changing the processor on a PC with average performance will not be useful and uninteresting. Upgrading a laptop is pointless because it is expensive and brings almost no performance increase.
    3. Changing the processor in a laptop is very delicate and can pose many problems, especially regarding temperature, as your PC's cooling system is adapted to the E300.

What would you advise me (apart from changing machines) to significantly improve performance?

As I mentioned earlier, upgrading a laptop is pointless and will simply amount to throwing money out the window. It's better to wait and save up for a recent PC if you don't have the budget to change machines.
