First of all, you need to be sure that you can ventilate the new processor sufficiently, because you should know that a laptop cools less efficiently than a desktop PC.
The two processors have different sockets, and despite having a quite different process technology, according to Intel's website, the processor you are considering would indeed be compatible with your laptop.
However, apparently, these processors are becoming rare today, unless you have found an offer; what budget are you allowing yourself?

I already found the rare gem on leboncoin, I’m going to pick it up soon for 50€!
After that, I’ve planned a cooling pad for my laptop, I hope that will be enough ;)

After a little research, the b950 goes up to 85°C max (a temperature it has never reached on my PC) and the i5 goes up to 100°C

Your answer is certainly correct, but keep in mind that the higher the temperature, the better it will be for keeping your processor safe, because even if it doesn't reach 100°C but rather 90°C, it will last less over time than at a temperature of 50°C. Good luck with your purchase; I hope you encounter no issues during delivery :)
Have a good end of the evening

P.S.: If the issue is resolved, please mark it as such ;)

If my b950 reached a maximum of 50°C, I think the i5 will go up to 70/75°C, I think ;)
Thank you very much for your help and best wishes!
