Here is the translation:
Here, I have episodes of a series in the original version that are provided with a subtitle file, srt, which allows me to understand this series.
I would like to insert these subtitles directly into the video because my DivX player does not read subtitle files.
Which software allows this? And how do I do it?
Thank you in advance ++

Hello,
could it be Desperate Housewives by any chance???
Well, here's the best and simplest solution:
- Download and install VLC Media PlayerVLC
- File
- Open (Advanced)
- in the first box, put the video
- check "add subtitles" and insert the .srt file
- ok
And there you go, your videos are now subtitled
If you're still having trouble, try looking it up yourself because it's really easy.

Hello,
I have the same problem, I have a series in original version and .srt subtitles, how do I insert them into the video?

Another related question (I hope):
I would like to add personal subtitles to remix a video, is it the same principle?
Thank you in advance for your help. :)

To insert personal subtitles into an already subtitled video, you need to search your computer for the corresponding .srt file
(search> *.srt) searches all srt files on the disk;
open the file in WordPad
modify lines like:
[1050] I’m coming!
to
[1050] I’m arriving!
[1150]
optionally modify the time code value in brackets to adjust the subtitle to the images:
[1150] "empty" signals the end of the text display of line [1050]
(thus the display lasts 100 from 1050)

VLC version 1.05 does not automatically read SRT files even with the same name as the AVI, with auto-detection, etc... version 0.8.06 was better, you had to go to video/subtitles/track1, anyway GOM Player is better for playing on PC (or KMPlayer)
On standalone DivX players, I have never had problems or almost with SRT or SUB files that have EXACTLY the same name as the AVI, so not integrated, except for some subtitle/audio sync issues.
However, before copying an AVI in ISO mode to a DVD, I check the codec of the AVI, DX50 does not work on all standalone DivX players.
To integrate an SRT or SUB into an AVI, VLC can do it but is very cumbersome to configure; I use PocketDivX free which is much simpler. If the AVI is DX50, I force XviD, you can also resize the image, it works very well and is very simple to set up; encoding takes an hour for a 90-minute AVI on a dual-core PC with 3GB of RAM. What PocketDivX also does very well is synchronizing audio/video when there is a delay on the original; I had this with a series where there was no delay on PC, but there was a big delay on the standalone DivX player, just a quick run with PocketDivX and no more delay, and it's very fast when it only involves audio/video resynchronization.
It also only accepts AVI videos.

Hi everyone
I would like to subtitle my own video, and with my own subtitles easily, preferably with a website and not a software
Thank you for responding.

I think Avi Recomp 1.4.5 is suitable for you, but it only accepts AVI videos, so if your video is in another format, you need to convert your video with a converter.
I tried to convert .avi files but I can't even load the files on pocktdivx; it tells me "sorry, you can't open this file, format not recognized." What should I do now, please help me, suggest another solution.
What you are proposing here is a method (and quite possibly the most complicated one) to read .srt files in a movie opened with VLC. This only temporarily integrates the text into the video, and the next time you open it, you have to repeat the procedure.
To permanently insert subtitles, there may be another method with VLC, but this is not it.
