Hi, if someone could help me, that would be nice!
My problem is that I'm missing the 3rd Wireless Connection Configuration tab when I right-click on my wireless connection properties, so I lose my connection when it's connecting to others and vice versa, and it's slow every time.
I've already tried: start, run: services.msc, and I went to Wireless Auto Configuration, and I noticed that the service status was stopped, so I started it, and I received this message: (Error 1068: The service or dependency group failed to start)
What should I do? Help me, I've been searching for a day but haven't found a solution to recover this 3rd tab!!!
Thank you in advance.

Error 1068 - Following a viral infection of your computer with a "bagle" or "beagle" type virus...
You can no longer connect to your Wi-Fi. If you go to the administration tools on the "services" page to activate "wireless auto-configuration," you encounter error 1068.
If this is your case and you have pulled your hair out, here is the solution:
You need to go into the registry with regedit or another tool.
1. Start > Run > Type: "regedit" and hit OK
2. Go to HKEY Local Machine > system > CurrentControlSet > Services > Ndisuio
In this key, there is an entry named "START," double-click it. This entry must be set to 3 for the NDIS I/O protocol to start correctly.
A virus like "bagle/Beagle" changes this entry and sets it to 4 (disable), causing the problem you are experiencing.
Then reboot your PC, and everything should return to normal.
Have a good day!!!

Hello, I have roughly the same problem as everyone else; all of a sudden, everything stopped working on my computer. It takes a long time to start up (it stays on "Welcome" for about 5 minutes).
I tried Audri's solution, but everything was fine on my end! Kaspersky doesn't find any viruses, but since I can't do updates without the internet, I doubt its complete functionality!
Every time I try to open an installed program, for example for MSN, "Windows Live Messenger has stopped working" pops up; this happens for about 95% of my programs! If anyone can help me
Thank you in advance.

I had the same problem "Error 1068: The service or dependency group failed to start for Wlan. So I solved it by checking if EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) was set to Start in the services (type services in the start menu), locate the EAP protocol service, check if it's running and its startup type. If it's not running, then start the WLAN AutoConfig service. And for me, it worked!!! Here is the site where I found the procedure to follow http://forums.techarena.in/windows-vista-network/866102.htm
So, bye

I have the same problem as Cymralle. When I start the EAP Protocol, it still says ERROR: 1068 the service or group of dependencies could not start. Elsewhere, I saw that I need to start the service: CNG Key Isolation and when I start it it says: ERROR: 3 the specified path was not found. Everything started to mess up when I did a "free registry scan". Please help me with both errors!!!
I have the same problem; apparently, it comes from a virus. I can't provide a solution for the third tab, however, I'm including a link here to download Lucidlink, which is a program that manages wireless connections on Windows, thanks to which I was able to reconnect. Here you go!
For the link, it's here https://www.zdnet.fr/actualites/telecoms/

Hi,
It's about the Hdlrrr virus that messes up the wifi and even the antivirus... anyway.
I've heard about various solutions (ProSet Wireless...) and this one (lucidlink)
Unfortunately, once these programs are obtained and installed, nothing special happens and no fix occurs, the problem is still very much there, and I don't want to format my hard drive.
If you have any more technical explanations to provide "step by step," I'm interested...
Thanks

Hello everyone, I have the same problem as above with my laptop
impossible to connect to Wifi networks and when I try to start the WLAN Auto-Configuration service I get the following message
Windows could not start the WLAN Auto-Configuration service on the local computer
error 1068: the service or dependency group failed to start
I have Vista on my PC and I tried the solution above but I can't find HKEY local machine
Thank you for your help!

Here is my translation of your text:
Here I also have Vista and my networks are no longer working (cable and wifi) on my laptop; I get the same error as all of you.
Norton detects 6 viruses, all are "trojan.horst" and it cannot remove them (but apparently the problem does not come from this virus)
I checked in the registry at the indicated location, but the value for start is indeed 3.
I tried using the fixbeagle tool from Symantec but it finds nothing.
I went into the services and the EAP service is indeed running.
I ran cleanups with CCleaner and a search with Spybot, but nothing works.
I am attaching below the HijackThis report if someone can interpret it and help me that would be great. Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem on a Windows 7, the "WLAN Auto Configuration" service wouldn't start, I got an error 3: path not found.
I resolved the issue by selecting "Windows startup recovery mode" at startup.
It only restores system files, so there's no need to worry about your personal documents.

check that the "TELEPHONY" service is not disabled, as it conditions the startup of the "remote access connection manager" service, which, if stopped, grays out the selection areas in the "create the next connection" panel.
It's a convoluted system, but by querying the service that refuses to start based on its dependencies (4th tab of the service) before and after, you will find the solution.

Hello,
since Saturday I've had exactly this problem, except that my registry hasn't been changed (still 3).
I've done scans that found nothing, I've tried restorations, I've installed wefi, I've checked the firewall and its permissions, nothing works, I still have this error. I've searched online but the only solutions I find are either to modify the registry again (which hasn't changed for me) or to start or activate services that are already active, etc.
In short, I'm going in circles; if you find something, I would appreciate it, and if I find something myself, I'll keep you posted ;)

Hi, I keep getting the same message... I've tried many times with things like regedit and services, but when I click to change things inside, it gives me the same error message and nothing opens... please help me, I don't know what to do anymore!!!!!!
Hello everyone, I am facing a big problem with my computer, I can no longer connect, my computer does not detect any connection, when I go to my network and sharing center it says "the service or the dependent group could not start, I cannot enable network discovery, when I try to set up a manual wireless connection it says: "the wizard cannot continue and must be closed. You may try to run it again later. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or technical support." When I click on "show more details", I get a box that says:
Component GUID {7071ECA3-663B-4BC1-A1FA-B97F3B917C55}
Component file: [C:\Windows\system32\connect.dll]
Error: (0x8007277B) "message error not found"
Additional info:
failed to detect internet connectivity
I have the correct number which is 3 but nothing else works next to it
If you have experienced this problem before and know how to fix it, I turn to you. I sincerely hope you can help me because it drives me crazy that my computer stopped working all of a sudden.
PLEASE HELP ME
