MSCOMCTL.OCX component

You need to copy it to: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

For Win XP: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

If you get a message saying that the file is not registered, click Start/Run. then type:

REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX and click OK.

Hello, I've done all your manipulations, but it's not working...
When I press Enter at the end, a window opens and says "Failed to load module 'mscomctl.ocx'. Check that the binary file is stored at the location specified by the given path or debug it to look for potential issues with binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found."

you must have uninstalled a program that deleted this file still necessary for running other programs,
when you launch this program, if it relies on a file, you should put the installation CD of the software in the drive and indicate the path to find the missing file (basically reinstall it...)
This happened to me with Norton.

Place MSCOMCT2.OCX in c:\windows\System32
then Start Menu/Run (Type or Paste) regsvr32 c:\windows\System32\MSCOMCT2.OCX
Click on Ok
The message "DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\System32\MSCOMCT2.OCX succeeded"
confirms the correct installation of the component

In Excel VBE [Alt+F11]
To add it to the Toolbox
Create a dummy UserForm
View Menu/Toolbox
Right-click on Toolbox or Tools Menu/Additional Controls
Check Microsoft MonthView Control version 6.0 (SP6) and/or
Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6)

There’s no reason for it to disappear unless it’s an error on your part (guizzz), so as Charlérix wisely says, think about the software you have installed recently, uninstall and reinstall it.
The other solution is to insert the Windows reinstallation CD, and repair it. Also check for active x updates on the Windows site.
Personally, it activated automatically by the Visual Basic editor (Excel or Word)
tools / references / Microsoft active x.

Thank you very much for your procedure, I was able to fix a similar problem in Excel 2007
Error message: "The component "or one of its dependencies is not properly registered: a file is missing or incorrect " when launching Excel 2007.

No other more likely suggestions?
