Hello everyone
I bought an Office 365 license and to activate it I’m facing a problem because it runs but shows nothing.
So I’m asking if someone can help me solve this issue.
Thank you in advance

Good evening and thank you for your help
But the problem comes from Microsoft:
We have news to share with you regarding Microsoft 365 on one of your macOS devices.
As of July 13, 2026, a certificate security update will be required to keep Microsoft 365 and Office apps up to date. On devices that cannot support this update, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote will switch to read-only mode. You will still be able to open and read all your files, but you will not be able to modify or save your files on that device. Your files are safe.
From our information, one of the macOS devices linked to your account cannot run macOS 12 (Monterey) or a later version. This means that Microsoft 365 apps will no longer work on this device after July 13. Your subscription is active, your account has not changed, and anything you have saved in OneDrive belongs to you. Here’s how to continue:
• Use the free Microsoft 365 web apps. Open Word, Excel, PowerPoint in any browser, on any device, including your current device. No download or installation required. If your files are saved on OneDrive, your existing files can be opened and will function as they always have.
• Use a supported device. Sign in to Microsoft 365 Apps on any supported macOS device or other supported device with your existing account. Everything awaits you. See the system requirements for more information.
But
the issue is on the machine you reported, so I bought a license to try to resolve the problem but nothing, the problem persists, so I wanted to use Office Online and there it asks me to pay the license again.
So paying 2 licenses I find that too much.
Kind regards-
Hello,
Yet Microsoft 365 for the Web is essentially free but with limited features, I don’t know the situation on Mac but perhaps you should start by uninstalling Office 365 to begin with (and cancel the subscription since it will no longer work on an old Mac version), and it isn’t guaranteed that it will work there for the same reason.
If I recall correctly, for the same reason anything equal to or older than Office 2019 (and perhaps even 2021, I haven’t checked) has been removed from all Mac versions including recent ones (I have a Sonoma virtual machine on which 2019 no longer works).
The only solution then is Office 2024; online licenses can be found, for example on Rakuten DA, at 0.90€, but you must verify that it supports your old Mac version, which I assume you cannot update without leaving you with no solution.
