Hello,
I have a Toshiba A10-S403D laptop
for a while now, the fan seems to be unmounted and makes a terrible noise (a kind of "tap tap tap tap") as it is probably rubbing against its cage.
I press under the lid of the laptop at that spot and it puts it back in place for a moment, but regularly it falls again and the noise starts again.
Has this ever happened to any of you?
Is it possible to do something about it or to change the fan of a laptop?
Thank you in advance

Of course, it is possible to change the fan, but if it is only unscrewed, the easiest thing would be to open the laptop case (if it is no longer under warranty, otherwise it needs to be sent back to the warranty service), and screw the fan back in. However, one must be very careful and meticulous, as the components in a laptop are quite "tight," so nothing should be damaged, and absolutely no magnetic screwdriver should be used!
That's all I can do, sorry.

I have the same issue for a year, it only happens intermittently and is due to the play of the fan blades. There is nothing to tighten, the blades want to fly off with the speed and rub against the casing on top :(
Have you solved your problem? Because I have the same issue with the same brand of computer, although I don't think the fan is detached but rather that it has become quiet... I tried to contact Toshiba's service, which wanted to charge me 37 euros for shipping and the price of the fan itself... So, if you have solved your issue and have a tip, please don't hesitate to share....
Thank you.
Thank you.
