3ds xl turns off by itself

Hello, I've had a problem with my 3DS for a while.
It randomly turns off for no reason, just like that. :/
The battery button doesn't light up or blink to indicate that there's no battery, so logically I should have battery power, so it shouldn't be that... Logically...
It happened 2-3 times in 1 hour about a month and a half ago and then stopped, I haven't played much since then, and now I played today and bam, it happened again, it turned off 2 times in 2 hours. :/
It happened with both a DS game and a 3DS game, so it's not that, to begin with...
Every time that happened, I hadn't played with the 3DS XL for a while, but generally, it's fully charged. I charge it and store it in its case.
Could it be a battery issue that needs to be changed? Or does the fact that I don't use it for a month still drain the battery even if I don't use it?

I took my 3DS XL out of the closet with the release of Fire Emblem Fates and I remembered to my detriment that my console had a similar problem to this post.
Except that my 3DS shuts down just from a little bump or if I’m unfortunate enough to place my thumb between the Power and the B.
So I tried the solution that joalfix found, which says "to remove the battery and hold down power for about 40 seconds because it might be due to an electrical overload in the console or something like that."
I’m not sure if holding for 40 seconds is the solution to the problem or if simply dusting off the battery fixed the issue, but in any case it worked for me. -
I had exactly the same problem as you and now when I turn it on, it shuts off after a few seconds. I can’t even access the menu of my DS. I think it's due to the battery, yet I use it at least once a week.

A computer and a handheld console are not really the same ^^ but if it's really just a battery issue that would be great, it would relieve me...
But I would find it strange if that was the case! Indeed, this afternoon the DS XL turned off after 1 hour of play, then I turned it back on immediately while plugging it in, and the light indicating that the DS was charging went off after...30 seconds, which logically means it's fully charged, and it turned off again only 40 minutes later :/.
I then played again, 20 minutes without any problem and without recharging it.
So if it's just a battery issue that would be good, but I have my doubts after all this x).
Hoping that someone has already had this misadventure so I can resolve it... Because paying €12 for a quote from Nintendo and the repair, not great. -
Not at all, brand new from Auchan on the release day in July :/ and it has been doing this for only a month and a half.
I know "Go to customer service" but I would like to know if this problem is really a problem and not something I can fix myself before I have to deal with them... -
For a month and a half, my computer is doing the same thing, actually it says that the battery is fully charged, but 30 minutes later there's no battery left, so I think your 3DS battery is dead, I don't think so, but maybe in a month you won't be able to turn on your 3DS and you'll have to buy a new battery.

I have the exact same one and I no longer have the warranty ticket even though my console is 2 months old.-
No intelligent person has ever bothered to respond to me, no matter the site, just answers from people with a 2 IQ or something close.
I tried to contact Nintendo's customer service and never got a concrete response, so I gave up.
When I charge it properly, it happens less often; it must be due to a connection problem either at the "joint" between the two parts of the 3DS (certain angles could cause it to turn off due to a bad connection) or a bad connection in the area around the power button when pressing around it.
By being careful about this, it happens very, very rarely. -

On another forum, someone told me to remove the battery and press the power button for about 40 seconds because it might be due to an electrical overload in the console or something like that. I wondered if the guy was messing with me, but I tried it, and it seems to have worked.
I don't know if it was a lucky shot, but I suggest you give it a try; it doesn't hurt to try, and there's no risk involved.

As for me, I have a similar issue, do the test just in case.
Unlike others where the exact same thing happens, it doesn't seem to be coming from my battery.
Indeed, I've noticed that every time it shuts off abruptly, it's when it moves.
I tried in vain to find a guide or something to locate the pedometer because if I'm not mistaken, when it moves my 3DS XL shuts off.
So go ahead and test it too, you might end up changing a battery for nothing. And I take this opportunity to ask if anyone knows a bit about this part.
If it is possible to remove it and keep the device functioning, and how to do it.
