Help for using Easy Cap

Hello,

I recently bought the Easy CAP USB cable and installed the Ulead VideoStudio software using the CD that came with it. Seeing that the cable alone was not enough, I bought a scart adapter with a black (audio out - left) and red (audio out - right) connector (the seller told me that the third connector was unnecessary). I want to transfer a video from my VCR to my computer. Unfortunately, when I try to capture the video with the software, the screen is black and there is no sound. The software does not detect the cassette, which is displaying properly on the television. Regarding the connections, I connected a scart cable from the VCR to the television and another one (the one I bought with the two connectors) from the VCR to the Easy CAP cable.

If anyone has any idea for a solution, please help me

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 12.0

Hello, it's a recurring question on the forum. You need either a white or red RCA for "mono" sound, but you need a yellow one for video.

    Video transfer box
Hello, to transfer the content of an analog cassette (VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8) or an analog video stream, you need to connect the camcorder or VCR or another device to an "external box" that handles the "hardware" conversion of the analog stream into digital. You connect the box to the computer with a USB cable; the file is converted to MPEG2, a format easy to burn and compatible with all players, and allows for editing with "Studio."
You connect the box and camcorder or VCR with an S-VHS connection (recommended) or composite (less good) (yellow RCA) and a cord for sound (2 RCA red, white). For the VCR, you need a SCART connection with an adapter or cord with the "out" direction or with an input-output switch for S-VHS or composite RCA yellow output (less good) plus sound, with two RCA red and white outputs.
Remember to select PAL to get color.
I recommend the Dazzle box, either the "DVD Recorder" only or the Platinum, depending on your needs.
The price of the STUDIO 14 HD software (€61), which comes with it, makes the product interesting.
There are exotic products like USB keys with 4 wires, cheaper, but be wary, they're often a source of trouble, judging by the messages of desperate members on the forum.

Since the format is 4:3, the image quality can only be judged on the TV screen once the film is burned.

      Hello,

Thank you for your reply, so if I understood correctly, you recommend the Dazzle box instead of the Easy CPA USB cable? With the audio cables plugged in, I don't understand why even the sound is not being captured by the software.
I wanted to attach a photo of the connection I made, but I can't seem to attach a photo.

this confirms my reservation about this gear, but insist, and if you succeed, let me know so that I can be less strict.
