No sound on DVD player via HDMI

Hello,

I have a DVD player "THOMSON DVD120H" which, when connected via HDMI to my television "SAMSUNG PS43E490B1WXZF", does not produce sound.

I have unsuccessfully tested both HDMI ports on my TV as well as all three HDMI 1.4 cables I have.

The HDMI ports on my television and my cables are functioning since they are fully used by my Neufbox TV and my laptop.

The HDMI connection of my DVD player works because when it is connected to my computer screen "IIYAMA prolite B2475HDS", the sound works.

I have tested the various settings on both the player and the television. Nevertheless, I think the issue must come from the settings on one of the two devices or some strange incompatibility.

I have made both manuals available on my "neufgiga" by following the link below.

Thank you for your help

Olivier

Convert the audio from the DVD player to PCM or stereo.

Thank you, Stewartia, for your quick response.

My player was already set to PCM in "audio output" and stereo in "Speaker settings".

Here are the different audio options available on my DVD player:

    1/ Audio Settings
    1A/------------------ Audio Output: SPDIF/Off, SPDIF/RAW, and SPDIF/PCM
1B/------------------ Key: a scale from flat to sharp

    2/ Speaker Settings
2A/------------------ Mixed Mode: LT/RT, Stereo, and USS

    3/ Digital Settings
3A------------------ Mode op: Audio Output and MEF
    3B------------------ Dynamic: a scale from 1 to 8
3B------------------ G+D: Stereo, Mono Left, Mono Right, and Mixed Mono

Thank you again for your help.
