Hello,

my VCR is stuck on DVD, and I can't switch back to VHS either using the remote or the direct button on the device.

JVC HR-XV31E

Can you help me?

Thank you.

No, there is no DVD, but we know how to put one in and play it, but we don't know how to switch back to VHS. I'll try to turn it off, and then we'll see.

    Thank you.

No, because to switch to VHS mode you need to press the VCR button on the remote or on the device, but neither of these buttons are responding.

Just so you know: I dealt with JVC's customer service for a friend's GPS, and they were really efficient and nice... you could give it a try if unplugging it doesn't help your case...

    Good evening....

I suppose you've tried leaving it unplugged for a while... not in standby, but unplugged from the power source?
Is there a DVD inside or not?
If so, I assume (again!) that you can't eject it?
    Regards,

Ok... but when you want to switch to VHS, have you tried ANOTHER tape?
If so, do you hear it winding around the pulleys, capstan...?

Even when pressing eject, it doesn't respond because the DVD indicator is on, and to turn on the VHS one, the VCR command isn't responding either.

They say that to unlock the device, you need to press power for 10 seconds; then "cl" appears, but that doesn’t work either. I've also checked the parental control, but that’s not it.

I unplugged it for a few hours and it worked; when I turned it on, it was on VCR and the tape works.
