Hello everyone!
I'm explaining my problem:
When my PC runs a Flash application, especially via Firefox, my PC starts to lag more and more and the CPU usage gauge is at 100%.
Thirty seconds later, the animation suddenly resumes its normal speed, as if some memory were being cleared (maybe the RAM...), then it starts lagging again, etc...
This is very annoying, and I have no idea how to fix the problem.
If you have a solution or at least an explanation, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hello everyone!
I'm experiencing the same problem on my end: out of nowhere, my PC started lagging for no reason while loading Flash animations. And the same goes for playing videos on YouTube or music on Deezer—it's become a nightmare!!!
I've tried reinstalling the Flash plugin. But nothing works...
Does anyone have a solution?
And please avoid responses like "stop doing drugs, get a new PC" and the like... It's pointless and frankly idiotic... -
Although this topic is old (even very old => February 2, 2007), I am disappointed to note that four years later, the problem remains unresolved.
I am encountering the same issue with reading Flash games in I.E, Chrome & Firefox, basically the three best browsers on the web... What disgusts me is that in this kind of story we are like passengers on a train that is four hours late; I feel like a hostage because, of course, there is no alternative solution...
Conclusion
Adobe = it's crap.-

sorry IE is not one of the best, it's rather considered as to be avoided :p
as for me personally, I still use ie6; they changed the buttons for cookies, history, and deleting temporary files, they're well placed
the later versions each had their own tabs = less advantageous at least for me :)
but otherwise it's still not secure so (useless) -

Hello everyone, I'm having the same problem on YouTube, Dailymotion, and all Flash apps in general.
I had quite a bit of hope when I saw [Resolved] at the top of the page, but actually... still no solution. So does anyone have any idea?
Thanks in advance.-

Hello, I had the same issue as all of you, and after countless forums, I found a solution. Surprisingly, my problem was neither with Flash, nor with my connection, nor with my computer; it was due to a "pirate" application called "Growl." If it is installed on your Mac, it is visible in System Preferences. To remove it, you need to go to the Growl website at this address: http://growl.info/thirdpartyinstallations.php
and there you will find a link to download the uninstaller.
I hope this resolves your issue.
Good luck. -

I have exactly the same problem and it's quite annoying.
If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears. -
It's nice and all, but you don't seem to grasp our problem...
On my side, I have a good internet connection, pages load quickly, and I often download at 800KB/s, so that's fine, but on my favorite little Flash games on sites like Armor or Miniclip, the computer slows down irregularly no matter the game or the resolution/quality settings max/min.
If anyone has an idea, that would be nice

In the first line, I have Shockwave Flash, version 10.0 r22
I noticed that the games only start to lag after a certain period of time. Is it possible that it's because the computer overheats? I had ruled out this option, but since I usually play on my bed, which is generally really hot underneath... it might not be that at all, but if it can help... -
Hello, a little trick that works for games.
Once the flash game is open (and only when it’s open), at the top left of the page, click on Tools, then on Manage Add-ons.
There, disable Shockwave for the duration of the game and then turn it back on at the end. -
Hi,
Type about:plugins in the address bar
At the top right, click the link to view the details
Look for Flash in the list
You should have 2: one disabled and one enabled
Switch them (enable the disabled one, and disable the enabled one) -
In any case, I don't think putting a laptop on a textile is a good idea, because depending on how the vents are made, it may suck in very fine dust particles that can easily settle on the components, which is never good for cooling.
On my PC, it's already noticeable from time to time at the level of the fan blades; I have to give it a quick blow to clean up a bit. A PC is like a little vacuum cleaner... and thus a dust bag!
Moreover, if the PC is placed on a bed, the small airflow inside the PC is weaker because a part of the ventilation holes is obstructed. Hence, the processor slows down, which, if it gets hot, performs worse. What I'm saying is my opinion; I'm not a pro in this area, so if I'm wrong, please correct me.
Anyway, when I use my PC on a table that isn't necessarily clean, or on a bed, I put it on a small plastic plate; otherwise, a comic book should suffice. It raises it a bit, and the ventilation is better.
Otherwise, on Firefox, my plugin is the "old" 9.0 r31, which works fine, but it may depend on the Flash games. Do you have an example of a site with a particular Flash game that lags? -
For me too, watching flash videos (YouTube, Daily Motion, etc...) has become a nightmare overnight: 1 frame every 2-3 seconds, despite a download bar that fills up quickly. I've installed and updated Flash Player, but nothing works.
Thank you for your valuable help,
Laurent -
Uninstall Flash Player ... it’s the one causing Firefox and Chrome to lag
I uninstalled Flash Player, Firefox and Chrome, then reinstalled Flash Player from "IE" and reinstalled Firefox and Chrome
No lag!
YouTube suggested the update for Flash Player, I did it and since then there’s lag again on loading and progressing through the videos ...
to be tested ^^ -
@everyone: check that you do not have Akamai in the startup services.
See: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-19504351-a-quoi-sert-akamai-netsession-client#q=akamai&cur=1&url=%2F (an Adobe update in March forced me to install Akamai, it took me a month to realize why the PC was lagging; I removed the parasite in April) (basically it is suspected of stealing bandwidth from individuals to sell it at high prices to companies)
How to do it: MSCONFIG.
(Windows Menu / Start / Run; type msconfig; Startup tab (not Start); uncheck Akamai; OK)
Then delete the program (Windows Menu / Control Panel / Programs (Uninstall); click on Name column to sort alphabetically; check Akamai; delete)
Make sure to restart the computer to validate the removal of the pest.
Check in each session that the pest Akamai has been unchecked from the msconfig Startup tab. -
Hello,
As for me, I did this:
In Firefox
The Firefox toolbar > section: help > Restart with add-ons disabled > restart in safe mode.
No more lag. -
click on your flash game's screen and disable hardware acceleration
-
I suppose that with the updates to Firefox and its plugins, the problem has been resolved?
By the way, it might have been an automatic update that caused the problem overnight.
No response like "stop the drugs," but still, his message is fabulous; in the realm of nonsense, he takes the gold medal! -
A PC with less than 256MB running Windows XP is bound to struggle, with or without virtual memory.
With 128MB, it's even worse. And adding IE8 to the mix? That's a bad sign!
(That said, for the record, I've seen XP running on a laptop with 64MB of RAM at work... if you can even say it was "running"... we had time to drink three coffees between each action.)
To get back to our topic, with Firefox and BlackPearl, when you type: about:plugins
in the address bar, you should have a line for "Shockwave Flash".
- if that's not the case, do you have a line that looks similar? (that includes "flash" or "swf")
- if so, what version is displayed? -
I have the same problem.
I'm on Vista, with an ACER dual core laptop, 2GB of RAM. Personally, the games I play are: "pet society" and "yoville," which are flash game applications on Facebook. Sometimes the game runs well, then suddenly it starts to slow down more and more...
I've looked everywhere on the internet, and many people have the same issue, but no one has a solution. So I admit that I'm getting a bit desperate. -
