Image disappears

Hello,

Hello everyone, I'm explaining my problem:

When I start my computer, the image appears for about 0.5 seconds, then disappears, no matter which menu I am in. If I turn off and turn on the screen, the image reappears for 0.5 seconds, then disappears again (even in the BIOS).

I have disconnected all hard drives and unnecessary hardware, so I only have the graphics card and 1GB of RAM. I have tested with different RAM in different slots, and I also tried another graphics card, but nothing works. The problem also does not come from the screen, as the issue is the same with another monitor. I'm getting a bit desperate trying to find this fault.

I also attempted a clear CMOS, removed the BIOS battery, but it doesn't change anything...

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Jeoffrey

Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 21.0.1180.83

Hi, it keeps running after the screen turns off.

Well, I also tried with another power supply, but nothing works, the same failure persists.

So it must come from the GPU, so test by putting a rubber band on the graphics card and the PCI port to prevent it from moving. Keep me updated.

I think you should test the contact between your CPU and the cooler????

I tried to keep the graphics card, but it doesn't change anything; moreover, the problem is identical each time, the image appears exactly the same amount of time before disappearing. However, yesterday, while navigating in the BIOS, I validated some option, and the image reappeared. This morning, simply by closing a Windows window, the image also reappeared. Several restarts without problems afterwards, but the issue returned. I have already tested several graphics cards, and it doesn't change anything :/

I can't say much more, I don't have the computer in front of me so I can't check myself, so less idea.

I have new information: Once Windows is open, if I double-click on an icon (a photo, a program, anything!), the image reappears!

I tried several solutions, but since the problem occurs even before Windows opens, it can't be coming from there :/ I've never seen this before...

I must admit that I have never seen that either, but when there is a program running, does it jump more??

Yes, if I reconnect the HDDs, I can even see my desktop, the computer continues to run normally, the problem seems to come solely from the display. I thought it might be a power supply issue or a defective PCI Express port, but it's hard to test :/
