USB key appears / disappears

Question

Hello,

I need your help.

When I plug in my USB drive, it appears on my desktop for a fraction of a second, then it disappears, then it reappears and disappears again, and so on...

I can't access its content or format it.

I've tried it on 3 PCs (Windows XP and Windows 7 as well), and I encountered the same problem.

I tried to format it using the command prompt and also the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, but to no avail!

Can someone please help me?

Hello, I have exactly the same problem; it happens on my laptop with Windows 7, whereas when I plug this same USB stick into a PC with XP, everything works fine...

It looks like a loose connection in the key, so in my opinion, it's a problem with the key. -- Utae Gamuza

Have you ever removed your key without deactivating it first? I did it and I lost my key, it was an 8 GB one.

I forgot to tell you that when I slide the cursor to Hold, the key works well: I can copy the files and everything, but I can't delete them or format the key because it is write-protected!

I had the same problem on a computer running Windows 7, but it works on another computer, which is also running Windows 7.

The problem is simple, change the USB stick, it will go faster.
