Download the file, unzip the archive, and run the chrome.exe file. Create a shortcut for the chrome.exe file on your desktop and after that, you won't notice any difference. It should be fine!! Keep me posted.

I encountered this problem on my Mac while installing Chrome and I found the solution after some research...
Indeed, for an unknown reason, the Goggle/Chrome/Default folder in Application Support was not created during installation.

Here’s how to do it very simply

Close Google Chrome completely (in any case, it won't open).
In the Mac menu bar at the top of the screen, click Go.
Select Go to Folder.
Enter the paths below in the text box, then click OK.

~/Library/Application Support/

And you will see that there is no Google folder (it does not exist)... create it
then create the subfolder Chrome and finally the subfolder Default

This will give us ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default

And click on the Chrome application.... and it works
