File "SCAN.MSI" not found

Solved

Hello,

I rebuilt my PC and reinstalled my HP SCANJET G2710 scanner! After issues with the display of the HP Solution Center (resolved) (see previous message), at the start of scanning I get "SCAN.MSI file not found" then error 1716! Clicking "Cancel" returns to the messages and it keeps looping!!!! It seems to be a Windows Installer file, hence the forum choice...

Where can I find this file and where should I put it???

The installation was done from HP online installations; unfortunately I no longer have the original installation CD that came with the product...

Does anyone have a solution?

Many sincere thanks
Regards

Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 536.5

    Hello,
I’ve redone the procedure for the tenth time!!
I only have one directory 7zS5887 and it’s the only one... and in it there is only a file named Temp615828.tmp that I can’t do anything with!!!

    My question is still relevant!
    Thank you to you
    Best regards

I think it would probably be simpler to uninstall everything related to your scanner using "Uninstall program," and then perform a full reinstallation of the drivers.

Note: This reinstallation must be done with the printer/PC cable unplugged; it is the installation procedure that generally requests the connection at the right moment.

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room, especially when there isn't one there...!!!!

    Hello,

    Go to add/remove
Uninstall everything related to the ScanJet.

    Download this --> driver
and put it in your documents.

Disconnect the ScanJet from the PC
    Run the driver setup
Connect the ScanJet as soon as prompted.

This is a Windows SP3 for which I have installed all updates proposed by Windows Update!
I rebuilt the PC a little over a week ago!

I must admit I’ve never been stuck like this before!!!

    Thanks again

    The scan result is:

"Windows file protection could not start an analysis of the protected system files.

The specific error code is 0x000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable]"

    Go to Start
    Run
    Type: services.msc and OK.

Verify that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is started and set to Automatic in the startup type.

The remote procedure call is started properly and in automatic mode.

    Go to Start
    Run
    Type: services.msc and OK.

Check that the Print Spooler is started and is set to Automatic in Startup type.

    For the RPC:
    Right-click
    Properties
    Recovery
In First failure, Second failure, Third failure
    Select --> Restart the service
    Save and OK.

    Hello,
Regarding the "print spoofer" (spouleur d'impression) started well and in automatic mode..

I went all the way through and it’s still the same!

I think I’m going to reinstall Windows and start everything over calmly this weekend. No sick grandchild around me!

    Sincerely, thank you
    Regards

Same problem. I don’t see why HP calls its package "Full Software and Driver Suite for HP Photosmart" since the installation procedure doesn’t work. It loops when you try to cancel while desperately looking for scan.msi. 15 years after the product release it’s still not ready. My next printer won’t be a HP.
