Epson Stylus CX 6600
Hello
I have a problem with this printer; it says: printer error and the red error light is on. I can't do anything, neither print, nor scan, nor copy. On the PC screen when I try to print, I get this message:
"Some printer components have reached the end of their service life. Please refer to your printer's documentation."
The cartridges are fine; there is no lack of ink.
Are there other components that need to be replaced? That’s the question I’m asking myself.
Is there anyone who could help me troubleshoot this? My printer is 14 months old.
Thank you for your responses.

Hello
I also have an Epson but a CX6600, and I know it’s almost the same and the same system for all CX models.
Are the nozzles clogged? If so, use the syringe technique. If the nozzles are not clogged, I have the solution.
I disassembled my CX 6600 as follows:
1 turn on the machine with the lid open and turn off the power when the cartridge carriage is on the left to free up the view below the carriage at rest.
2 unscrew the scanner from underneath to get a view of everything (a total of 2 black screws and 2 aluminum screws) and place the scanner on a pile of books at the height of the machine because you must not pull on the connection wires of the scanner.
3 the carriage is on the left or in the middle (it doesn’t matter) and the scanner does not block the view of the interior;
4 you should normally see a piece of clear or black tubing if it contains ink
5 there’s a small white carriage that includes a small black carriage (4 holes corresponding to the 4 cartridges) for cleaning them. You need to move the white carriage connected to a spring (do not disassemble it) to the right, and you can see a small (black) tube that can be detached from the larger clear tube that goes to the pump.
If this junction is disconnected (which is the case for me on the CX6600), gently reconnect it with fine pliers.
6 reconnect, and you'll see printing resume miraculously
7 if the black and clear tubes are connected, it’s possible that the clear tube is clogged with dried ink that has formed a blockage, and then it needs to be disassembled and cleaned with demineralized water or alcohol or window cleaner. And reattach the connections. But I’m not sure how to disconnect the clear tube that may be clogged.
In summary:
check for nozzle clogs if not clogged
check the junction of the two tubes under the carriage (many issues with the CX models) if connected
check that the pump tube is not clogged if not clogged
check that the pump is not dead, and in that case, the machine is finished
I think I now know the Epson printers for their poor functioning and thanks to other internet users who helped me discover the core problem of this beast. Thanks to them
I’m passing the ball back.
For me, I had this famous black tube disconnected from the clear tube that I reconnected, and it started working again, but now all red color prints appear in yellow (strange...) is it a resetting issue or something else? I’m starting a cleaning of the magenta and black nozzles because I have white lines in black and white prints.
Thank you for the help you can provide
we will conquer these machines that I thought were done for me
thank you

Hi Emilie
I hope what I've written will be useful to you... the only problem with Epson is that they have several different origins of failures... after my cleaning operation on the nozzles (which I thought was successful), it only printed yellow, and I saw that I wasn't the only one (having read the many comments about this brand that I will never buy again)... I was so fed up with that damn machine that I preferred to buy another printer from a very well-known brand and I have no problems with it... but one piece of advice, buy yourself a printer with the print heads included in the cartridge to avoid them getting clogged in the machine like you can find with Epsons.
mine, after trying everything I could, I finally threw it away and I don't regret it.
sorry I can't help you more.
good luck because you'll need it if you hope to repair it.

I have a problem with my Stylus C83 printer; the two buttons (paper and ink) are flashing red :/ If someone can help me please.
Hello everyone
Well, I just had the same problem as you with my cx6600. I took apart the print head and it turns out that ink has leaked onto the circuit board of the head. I'm going to try to clean it, but there's little chance of fixing it since some connectors are burned. So for your problem, even in photocopy mode, the printing works but there is no color = print head needs cleaning or possibly replacement.

Well, this is the second Epson we have, a CX 5200 and a CX 6600. The first one broke down after a year and a half and the repair cost more than a new one... and now, the CX 6600 is not working anymore, an error message appears: printer error -> consult technical support. The problem? There is no help at all! When we send a print from the computer (MAC), there’s a message saying that the printer is not responding! I see that this is not just happening to me. If anyone can find a solution and help us, other than buying a new one every year!!! Thanks in advance.

Here I am again; but this time, after looking on other forums, I found that my printer IS WORKING AGAIN!!!! So here’s what to do:
1. turn off your printer
2. press and hold the black copy, color copy, and stop or cancel button (or ok depending on the model) simultaneously
3. turn on your printer (while holding the buttons from step 2), do not release until the light on your printer is blinking, a message will then appear on the LCD screen (init.EEPROM)
4. release all the buttons, a new message: push power sw
5. press the color copy button once
6. turn off the printer
7. turn it on again
There you go, the printer has reset to factory settings... It’s worse than a video game code...
So Epson is really cheeky because if you send the printer in, they say the printer is broken! So, everything is possible and thanks to this person who saved me from spending 150 € on this!

I performed the reset procedure for the printer but it doesn't work; the error light keeps flashing. If I let go, I get the message (init.EEPRO) displayed, so I would like to know how long I need to press it, approximately, if it takes a long time or not.
Thank you, can you reply to me by email at walson974@hotmail.fr? Thank you.

My Epson Stylus CX 6600 printer won't turn on, and the only time a light comes on is the one with the screwdriver. Apparently, it's a configuration issue. What should I do? Thank you.
Greetings to you and happy New Year nonetheless
Your problem may be due to an issue with the internal CHIP in the printer
I myself have this problem with an R220
I learned this recently
In short, it's because of EPSON
They are CROOKS, because this CHIP counts the number of passes of the
carriage and so if you reach the end of this counter, the printer gets stuck
Check with others if I'm right
There may be a software solution
See you later
PS: I understood here that this issue is in the hands of
60 million consumers

Hello,
I have an Epson Stylus CX 6600 and I'm facing a problem that's different from all the others I've seen (I notice that Epson doesn't have a good reputation)
here's my problem:
when I print or photocopy a color page there is no issue, it's fine (green button on the printer)
but when I use the black and white copy button there is a white band (about 1 cm wide) every 2 cm of print, which appears across the entire width of the print page (in portrait mode) and I end up with 10 horizontal white bands cutting across my print page. From one photocopy to another, the horizontal white bands do not appear in the same place.
I have performed the alignment of the heads (horizontal and vertical) and there is no issue with the printing everything seems normal.
I have also cleaned the nozzles 4 times
could it be a problem of clogged nozzles (as I have seen as a major issue with Epson)?
thank you in advance if someone has a solution for my problem.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem as you. I would like to know if you have solved your issue? If so, what did you do?
Because I took the printer to Boulanger and paid 60 euros but I still have the same problem and I went back without paying, Boulanger can't figure it out, it's strange, it seems like they are not professionals????
Thanks in advance
Christelle

I read the forum, I followed the steps to reset the Epson CX 6400 printer, but it still refuses to print. If anyone could provide some information, that would be nice.
I have no error messages, there is ink
I don't know if I should go ahead and dismantle the print heads!!

Hello, my Epson Stylus printer has a problem; I can't change the cartridges. I don't know where to click to bring the ink port to the middle where it would be possible to change them. Please help me quickly; I use the printer for all my university work.
I have the same problem. My printer is 5 years old, with no issues until today. Thanks for the tip, if someone can help me.
printer error and nothing works (a red error LED lights up solid)
I have the cx 3200 and nothing that was said worked
I’m experiencing the same problem. As long as I don’t release the buttons, no message appears.
And for the SSC service log, if I start the printer while holding both buttons
the SSC log tells me to check if the printer is turned on.
So I turned on my printer normally and right-clicked on SSC, then protection counter, then clear counter overflow and it worked.
If it doesn't work for others, try resetting protection counter
I have XP Ultimate.
Thank you because without your ideas I would never have thought that the problem was firmware-related
thank you all

I just had the same problem with the R200 and later the R220, and to resolve this issue, it's enough to stop buying Epson products; this is bullshit. We should file a class action lawsuit against Epson.
Hello everyone,
I have an Epson Stylus CX4900 printer, I bought it a month ago, everything was working fine, with or without a PC...
Yesterday I tried to print a Word file and I got the following message in the status monitor
Searching... then
Check all connections and make sure all devices are on. If the power was turned off during printing, cancel the print job. If the error does not clear, see your printer documentation.
I tried to reinstall the drivers, and an error message appeared (connect your printer via a USB cable... click on manual to select the port and configure it manually)
Please, it's urgent, I have a thesis to print, thank you.
