LaunchELF PS2 Installation Issue

Hello,

I've been looking for two days now (really), in vain, for a way to install LaunchELF so I can then install SMS and read .avi or .mp3 files via a USB stick.

I have particularly read articles on métagames.com.

The problem I have, especially, is before installing LaunchELF. How can I start the installation? I've seen things like Swap Magic, FMCB, PS1 exploit, in short, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all this information...

I didn't really understand what to do: install Swap Magic (paid)? Is there no free way?

I've also seen that it's possible with the PS1 exploit, but you still need Swap Magic...

So if someone could explain the steps in detail, knowing that I'm starting from scratch (PS2 Slim SCPH-70004 original, never opened, no modifications, nothing, nada, zero, you get the idea ^^)

Thank you very much,
Wally.

Up !

- I can't use the PS1 exploit anymore, as it has been "removed" since the slim version.
- Swap Magic cannot be used with a burned disc, so it needs to be purchased (I'm looking for a free solution).
- I opened my PS2 and blocked the "things" to make the console think the lid is closed and let the CD run. So I'm ready to swap manually.
- I might be onto something: burning a backup of a game by replacing an .ELF file with the UlaunchELF file, then swapping (exchanging the original with the burned disc) at the right time. Now I just need to find the right game among mine and get it all to work.

I'm having a bit of trouble, so please help me!

Thank you.
