Hello everyone
As stated in the title, for some time now, I haven't had any image in Windows Media Player.
The software plays avi, mpg videos well since I have sound but no image (black WMP screen); the same goes for DVDs.
I should mention that I have had this version of Media Player since its beta version, which means several months, and I had no issues.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but that does not resolve the problem.
I am eagerly awaiting your help.
Have a great day

hi
codecs are useless. to play all files you need VLC media player, you should have it normally, if not download it for free here https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/tv-video/23317-vlc-media-player/

Me, during a movie, I didn't put any visuals since I no longer have the movie video, and when I put a visual it shows me the alchemy stuff, but not the video. Can someone help me????
Hi everyone, so K-light is very good but the best codec I've found is the Satsuki codec pack. Here’s the link: https://www.pc-infopratique.com/telecharger-173-satsuki-decoder-pack.html
With that, have a good day :)

You need to install codecs. VLC does not allow videos to be played on other players besides itself.
Here is the best codec pack:
=>> http://www.unicornis.org/k-lite-codec-pack-t72009.html
It allows you to play all types of videos on multiple players (for example: Windows Media Player), avoids conflicts, and even enables encoding!

Hello,
I had a similar problem, but not because of a codec or anything like that: My wmp10 player would open, but I couldn't see the playback console. I could hear the sound, and I could see that the wmp process was active in the taskbar. REASON: I have a video card that allows me to view with 2 screens, 1 VGA + 1 S-Video. Can you believe it? My WMP10 was playing the videos on my TV, which is connected via S-Video. So I went to look for the WMP window from my TV to my VGA monitor. (I couldn't see the WMP before because my TV was simply turned off.) And there you go!

I don't know if this can help anyone, but I’ll tell you after 2 months of not having any images in Windows Media 11, and after loading all the codes that exist on the advice site, plus after loading the codecs, I thought I had sound. Well, okay, I'll tell you how I got my sound and images back for my movies on my hard drive as well as with my CDs. I uninstalled Windows Media from the control panel, then I went into the registry (in Run, type (regedit)) and searched for Windows Media Player and deleted everything that appeared from my search. I had to search about 30 times to no longer have any Windows Media Player files, and I got fed up because there were still some left, so I stopped. After that, I loaded Windows Media 9 with the Windows Media 8 codecs, and everything works finally after 2 months. Good luck.
Good evening,
I have exactly the same problem. If you have found a solution since your post, could you please share it with me?
Thank you.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem, I've had all the codecs for a long time!! But one day... no more image with Wmedia player!! I use stsuki more often!! But it's still annoying!
(It's not due to the codec and I don't think it's the graphics card!) If anyone has an idea, I’m all ears!!
Thanks

Before downloading all sorts of codecs and players, check that your system is not faulty due to the removal of one or more programs. For example, and not the least, the DLL32—remove just one of its lines and you're in trouble. Phew, I have my Windows CD at hand, so I'm going to try a repair; otherwise, back up your files and reinstall everything. Good luck!
Hello/Good evening,
Everyone, I had the same problem, but to avoid having this kind of issue for those who have version 11, just go to the arrow below "Now Playing", then go to Plug-ins>Options...>File Type>Validate the file type you are watching by clicking apply>DVD>Modify the restrictions. That's it because the plug-ins affect the image, and in case it doesn't work, download the missing plug-ins from Windows Media Player by following these instructions: Plug-ins>Download Plug-ins>After that, everything is handled here for those using Vista, install either: CinePlayer DVD Decoder for Windows Vista, Cyberlink PowerDVD SE for Windows Vista, or Upgrade your edition of Windows Vista. For XP users, download either: CinePlayer DVD Decoder for Windows XP, Cyberlink PowerDVD SE for Windows XP, DVD XPack for Windows XP, or NVIDIA DVD Decoder.
I hope all this helps you well, best regards.

hello
I advise you not to install codecs, rather use VLC media player as it plays almost all files. Of course, there will be sound and image. Normally you have it, if you don’t have it, install it for free by copying this link to the web.

I don't know if it's the same problem. I can't watch internet videos that open with Media Player, but I can hear the sound. I've downloaded the codec, but I don't know how to use it.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your help.
I open my Pocket PC Windows Media Player, the sound works, but its controls and the image don't work anymore.
Hello and Happy New Year to everyone,
After reading all your comments about the issue of watching videos without images but with sound, which is what I'm experiencing. I've downloaded everything you've mentioned: K-Lite Codec Pack and Satsuki Decoder Pack 3-1-1-7 and SLD Codec Pack 2-2, but nothing works. I am a football fan and I just want to watch the videos on the OGC NICE website; I have a subscription but I can't see anything.
Help please. It's true that I’m not an expert in IT, but if someone has a good tip, I would be infinitely grateful.
See you soon.
