Hello,
I bought the PC game Desperate Housewives a few days ago but I can't seem to install it and I've noticed from those around me that I'm not the only one!
When I click on install, it says:
Your computer does not seem to meet the minimum requirements for this game. Therefore, you will not be able to launch this program...etc
And:
When I click on more info to see the cause of the problem, it would be related to the graphics acceleration, the required configuration is: VSHDR and I have: T+L
What should I do???? Can anyone help me because I don't understand anything!

In CD 1, go to setup and then install DirectX.
After that, the game installation should work properly.

go to the setup directory and manually run setup.exe
:\Setup\setup.exe
then follow the instructions
CD 2 ... back to CD 1
installs under Windows 2000 with a t+l accelerator graphics card instead of vshrd

Well, I'm having the same problem, and then I do setup, setup like you said, and then it tells me to insert disk 2, so I do that, and then it says error: irreparable failure :/

It's version 9 of DirectX, and I believe it won't work on integrated graphics that only support up to version 8.
I have exactly the same problem. I have updated all my drivers, I have all the required configuration for the game. I've looked into it and apparently, the game is not compatible with the following video cards:
- nVidia GeForce 4MX
- Intel Extreme Graphics Family (Intel 845/852/855/865/910/915/945...)
- Integrated Chipset SIS
- Integrated Chipset VIA/S3G (Unichrome IGP...)
I don't know what to do either...

I contacted the people mentioned on the box in case of a problem and they told me that my card was not compatible. I tried to update my graphics card but nothing works, it still doesn’t work. They won't take it back either because it's a video game. You never know, we could have easily copied it... It's clear that it's outrageous. I hope there is a possibility to download a graphics accelerator. The thing is, they should have mentioned it on the box. Because, you know, we pay quite a lot for a game and we can't even use it. For now, I'm playing on my mother's computer but that’s it, it’s barely been a month since I bought my laptop. Soon I’ll have to change my graphics card to be able to play a game. Seriously, they're making money off our backs. If the game had worked, I wouldn't have said anything but a lot of us have the same problem. If you find a way, let me know. Hi everyone, I have the same problem and I'm really upset because unlike you, I have a computer scientist friend who came to install it for me, and even he didn't understand it. Apparently, my PC has all the minimum required specifications and is much more powerful than the game!!!! So I think the only solution is to get a refund (but really reluctantly because I would have loved to play it). Especially since yesterday I installed it on a friend's computer that is at least 7 or 8 years old, so old, and it worked. It doesn't make any sense!!!!

Well, for me it's not better, 3 PCs at home and none of them charge this f...... game grrrrrr, I'm fed up. Plus, the hotline people are really not nice! We should form a committee to file a complaint against the game developers, because in my case Carrefour refused the refund, so 30 euros have gone up in smoke (even though I don't smoke lol) I'm laughing but out of despair, it's so stupid!!!!!

It's pathetic, this game is poorly made: on my computer, I even added more RAM so that The Sims 2 would run faster and I could play it without any issues, even though it requires a certain amount of power. So why isn't this game working? It's not our computers that have a problem, it's their game!!!

But then, bad surprise, when the game tries to launch, I get the Windows message that says "Windows has encountered a problem. Send or don't send the error report." I'm so fed up.
I install it on my laptop, and there the image appears for 1 second and then nothing.
Given the number of issues, I think there’s a problem with the game.

Putin, look, I bought the game not long ago and it says I need VSHRD, and I apparently have T+L. My computer isn't old, and I managed to install it thanks to your advice, but when I try to create my family, the girl is invisible, and the game doesn't start afterward; it stays on loading!!

That leaves 13 GB of free RAM while the game requires 258 MB
And they tell me that the available space is insufficient, sorry but I've installed all the Sims 2 and they never said anything like that!
I had an expert come in to see if it was my old Trojan issue that had deleted a Windows file, he added the 18 I was missing! And guess what, MR. SMARTGUY, it still doesn't work!
It's simply SHIT.
