Well, I just downloaded Chrome (I had only been using Internet Explorer until now) and it works! Miracle. So for now, I'm going to keep Chrome, and then I will reinstall IE10 to see if it's due to a settings issue or not. A big thank you Afid, and I'll keep you updated about IE...
The problem was there!!! Strange that it didn't update??!!!
"Uh, 11? But the latest is 18, you are not at all up to date or is there something I'm missing?
I then suggest you download Chrome 18 HERE and then uninstall the current version via your control panel, and only then install the latest version."
Thank you so much.
It deserves that I buy you a drink!!! The internet has its advantages but also its barriers, too bad...
Thanks again
Fabien

The important thing is that we found a solution together.
For the glass, the probability is high that we are quite far away (me in the center of Belgium). Otherwise, I would have been happy to do it, but indeed we can't have it all :-)
Making others happy is also about making oneself happy. One day it will be your turn, I hope so.
Best regards

And also check
Look in the Gmail settings > To use this feature, just go to Gmail, then Settings > General and select
the option "Basic attachment features" at the bottom of the page.

Being on this forum for a long time, with experience, I have my reasons to maintain this formal address, as it's customary on this forum. Unless we end up having "common ground" :-). That said, being on a first-name basis doesn't generally bother me.
There’s no offense taken, and thank you for asking the question, which is already a positive sign in my eyes.

Hello everyone. I'm taking the liberty of picking up this thread because my problem seems similar to Fabien's, which was brilliantly solved by Madmyke. Unfortunately, I've tried the suggested solutions but it doesn't work. Here's a brief overview of my issue.
- No way to upload (and not download) attachments to my emails, whether on my Orange email account (in which case the download stops at 1%) or on my Gmail account (it shows an internet cutoff and refreshes the page)
- On another computer, it works
- I'm working on Windows 8 (64-bit)
- I'm using Internet Explorer
- Flash Player and Java were updated a few days ago
It seems like a settings issue, and despite my internet searches and checking my PC settings, I can't find a solution...
Thank you for your help!

For that, we would first need to have an idea of the "problem"...

I'm going to try to explain to you why it's difficult to help you.
You go to the doctor because you don't feel well and the doctor's job is to take care of you.
You look at him and say, "I feel sick, can you help me?"
He replies, "It's difficult because to help you I need a bit more information."
At that point, you have a choice:
Either you respond, "What do you mean, I already told you I'm sick," and the doctor will look at you strangely.
Or you say, "I'm hot, I'm shaking, I feel like throwing up, when I take my temperature it's 38.5 degrees Celsius, I've already tried taking aspirin but it doesn't bring down the fever, etc."
AND then the doctor will say to you; okay, we’ll take your blood pressure, listen to your lungs, and if I detect something, it will mean you have the flu.
Now, do you understand better?

After spending more than 5 months trying to figure out why I couldn't download attachments on Gmail and Hotmail with Internet Explorer 9, the solution was so simple, while other people on different sites said that I needed to change my web browser (how ridiculous).
The solution was simply to uncheck the box: do not store encrypted pages on the disk.
Click on Tools, then on Internet Options, at the top right of the page on the Advanced icon. Scroll all the way down and uncheck the box (do not store encrypted pages on the disk), apply and it's done;
there you go.

So the problem does not come from Internet Explorer, but from the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 8 or from Windows 7 to Windows 8. For this, you need to reinstall Windows 8. As for Adobe Flash, you no longer need to update since Flash is integrated into Internet Explorer 10. If you have any difficulties in knowing how to reinstall Windows 8 on a PC already equipped with Windows 8, let me know.
I have 1 desktop and 2 laptops at home; I updated yesterday from Windows 7 and XP to Windows 8 (32 and 64 bits) and everything works smoothly with my Orange Mail, Hotmail, and Gmail accounts, all using Internet Explorer 10. I tested sending attachments, and it works well.
I don't know if you installed any additional software beyond what was already installed on your PC, but there is a 90/100 probability that the software you installed is the reason. It could have changed your settings. Generally, from my experience, it's Google Chrome that does this. Even by uninstalling it, you will need to reset the settings of Internet Explorer.
Let me know if it doesn't work.

Hello, I had the same issue and for me, the solution was to enable IMAP in the account settings... hope that helps.
Thank you madmyke,
Yes, I tried from my laptop and I have no problem attaching files!
I searched through all the settings and I can't find any solutions...
I tried using Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome and it works, but I'm on the old version of Gmail.

Fabien:
To summarize, it works well on your mobile from Gmail online but not on another PC in particular?
If so,
What is your OS and your browser on the problematic PC?
And above all, what have you already tried? (so that I don't suggest paths that have already been explored).

I have this problem only on a specific computer.
I will repeat my previous message:
I have looked through all the settings (of the computer in question) and I can't find any solutions...
I tried using Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome and it works, but I'm on the old version of Gmail.
So I normally use Google Chrome and I've never had problems before.
My OS:
Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
Version 6.0

What do you mean by the old version of Gmail? Are you talking about Gmail +? If that's the case, it shouldn't change anything.
Okay, it's impossible to know without seeing the PC, but there is something we can try SEE HERE, go a little further down for the Chrome section.
Do a full cleaning (cache + cookies at least) of the browser cache, restart to be sure, and try the operation again.

Regarding Gmail, I'm not sure if it's Gmail + but it's the version before the last re-lifting that we've had for a while now.
Google Chrome cleaning operation completed.
I still have the same problem... Strangely, when I log into Gmail, the window stays in search mode for several seconds or even minutes.
When I hover my mouse over "new message," I get the circular loading icon.

Increasingly strange...
What is the exact version of your Chrome?

Uh, 11? But the latest one is 18, you're not up to date at all or is there something I'm missing?
I suggest you download Chrome 18 HERE and then uninstall the current version via your control panel, and only then install the latest version.
