Hello,
for a while now, I haven't been able to send emails with attachments, whether it's from my yahoo.fr, gmail.com, or caramail.com accounts...
In other words, no email containing a file can be sent under Windows. I've already formatted and reinstalled my Win XP SP2 system, and there's still no solution (formatted the C partition without touching the other partitions).
However, the files attached to my emails go through without any problem under Linux.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for all these explanations. I just installed Ccleaner and did some cleaning...
Spybot and Adaware are already installed. However, I didn't know about the restoration. I'll try it tomorrow. I hope it works because it's quite annoying this story about parts that are impossible to attach.
Anyway, thanks again to you and good night. It's going to be tough for me tomorrow morning :)

Hi
sorry for all this delay quick157,
I'm not using a mail server, I’m using Yahoo and Gmail directly. However, even with MSN, I can't send files, well, I've been trying for a good while to sort this problem out, and I'm still not there,
thanks

Good evening everyone, I see that many of us have the same problem.
I have 3 PCs, 2 on Wi-Fi and 1 wired, the issue for me was with the wired connection, I restored, formatted, changed programs, nothing worked.
On the other hand, the Wi-Fi PCs work very well, in the end I equipped my wired PC with a Wi-Fi adapter,
the result is that it works like a charm, in fact, my network card was acting up.
If this can help or guide someone.

the best would be to flood the technical services with complaints "help on the home page" and file a complaint, because right now, the yahoo technicians are doing nothing but you don't think they will read your grievances. Saturate them with complaints regarding this problem and yahoo will react (we have the right to dream)
Hello,
I was just wondering... has no one found a solution? Don't tell me you're not sending attachments anymore?!
I'm having the same problem; from the email box on sites like Yahoo or Hotmail, I can't send any attachments (it's been a week). Whether I'm using Firefox or Explorer, or even after disabling the firewall... I don't understand.
However, with the Mozilla Thunderbird email program, there’s no problem at all.

Hello, I have been using Mozilla/Thunderbird for a long time and for exactly 5 days now I can't send an attachment. I tried with .txt and it works but with .zip it doesn't work. For now, I don't understand. If there is a kind soul out there, I am open to suggestions! I have Avast antivirus and nothing seems abnormal, but now it just won't go.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Well, I'm the same with Avant Browser. It's impossible to send attachments in Gmail.
But it works with Mozilla.
Hoping this can help solve your issues.

It's done, it works!
You can only send .rar, .zip, .text or .doc files (at least it works on laposte.net). It's not the best, but it works.
So compress your images or any other documents before sending them. There you go.

Hi everyone...!
Dionysus was the name of a god...
the response of your servant to your questions==>
subject: outgoing messages impossible to send under Incredimail/Outlook/Thunderbird/etc...
there exists for these messaging services in tools>accounts>properties>advanced a number for outgoing encrypted SMTP mail 25 which is given by default during installation...
this number must be replaced with the number: 587....>>>for the incoming mail server Pop3 which is defined by 110 leave it if it works that way or with the online help of your messaging service change Pop3 to Imap (2 possibilities: Pop3/Imap)) and add the number 143..but I repeat, with 110, it works..
These 2 numbers solve all Incredimail and other outgoing mail problems 99% of the time...
Note that each time you reinstall XP, the problem may occur.
You can delete all cookies that accumulate on your PC...
Run a quick scan with Ccleaner, unless you've already done it
Ccleaner: (registry cleaner, cookies + temp files + prefetch + history + etc.)
Download here:
https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download
Tutorial here:
https://www.vulgarisation-informatique.com/nettoyer-windows-ccleaner.php
and
http://perso.orange.fr/jesses/Docs/Logiciels/CCleaner.htm
and if you're lost, you can manually go to the local disk C to clean tracking cookies or others by doing: start/My Computer/Local Disk C/Documents and Settings/Admin and all other users to click on Cookies.
(this part is for beginners, because I saw on a PC more than 7000 cookies with some that are necessarily risky, you click on the first one (it highlights)... you hold down the Shift key and with the down arrow near the numeric keypad, you highlight them all... except the last one (index) which cannot be deleted because it belongs to the system... you then press delete...(next to enter)
and that's it, but know that running CCleaner is essential for any PC.!!..
to finish with this message sending problem, the last thing to try then for example Incredimail..:
> when the mail you sent does not go out.. Press the F5 key on your keyboard or click once on send/receive and your mail will reach its recipient... this simple but not so obvious solution works every time and solves the problem for millions of users looking for solutions for Incredimail anyway..!
No need to uninstall/install your messaging service..!
Otherwise, it might be your MTU...

Everything should work perfectly now.
To avoid losing your contacts and their messages Incredimailfilesimport/export to Outlook..
To retrieve them after reinstalling Incredimailsame manipulations in reverse…

You can opt for the THUNDERBIRD email software, the free email client from the Mozilla Foundation. No more worries. You can send/receive messages! Goodbye Outlook Express…
See this(Thunderbird is the "little" Mozilla client requiring no installation. Thanks to its Gecko engine, it displays HTML messages with more security than Outlook Express. Its Junk Mail Manager is certainly the most efficient on the market. Moreover, it is less sensitive to the latest viruses that rely on flaws in Outlook Express. Thunderbird can also read newsgroups and, more rarely, RSS feeds that allow you to display information directly in your favorite client. Very lightweight, it can also be copied to a USB key to carry these emails everywhere! In short, Thunderbird has everything a great program needs, and its upcoming developments will not stop its progress)

Dionisos, I have a question: I am downloading CCleaner and I wonder if it's compatible with Avast and if it's not going to cause any problems with the Livebox... Do you know?
As for the initial question, I can see that my issue is not exactly the same as that of the other people who intervened before me. In fact, it's "Attaching" the file that's causing me trouble, not really the sending. Thank you anyway.

If it worked well before, create a restore point to go back to the time when it was working perfectly!!..
1 (system restore with restore points==>Start=>all programs=>accessories=>system tools=>system restore=>and there you go back two weeks, a month, or until the time when it was working well=>you click ok and let it do its thing..) ??
Restoration must be done... you need to click ok and the PC will restart... you won't lose any data.
To find out how to restore your system click here http://komun.chez-alice.fr/Reparation-restauration.html and choose the paragraph "restoration"
you need these software==>
Obstacles to smooth browsing
Despite the speed, comfort, abundance of sites and services, there are still a few small headaches when surfing: a link that doesn't open, an unstable connection, an animation that refuses to launch in a web page, a browser struggling to download files...
In short, the versions of Internet browsers come and go, but the problems remain. There are two main reasons for this. First, the impact of spyware cannot be overlooked. Most of the time, they attack the browser and are responsible for many issues, including slowing down the connection, adding favorites, or the appearance of intrusive ads.
The other reason concerns all those small programs that attach to the browser. Whether called plug-ins or extensions, their role is to enhance the browser’s functions, which is a benefit, but - as is often the case - they can also lead to crashes.
Microsoft and Mozilla, the publishers of the two most used browsers, are aware of the issue. As proof, they’ve added a special mode to Internet Explorer and Firefox, which works like Windows' safe mode. The advantage of this mode? It disables all the additional software attached to the browser. You can thus continue to browse with minimal functions while you resolve your issue using the advice from this document…
Ad-Aware is a utility that checks the memory, registry, and hard drives to detect known Spywares and remove them safely. Many options are offered, such as scan depth or selection of tests performed. Ad-Aware can check only active processes and the system registry, for example. The application's interface is clear and easy to use since assistants guide you through the various procedures, from scanning to deleting detected spywares. A report can be created automatically or manually after each scan. Documents being dated, you can consult them later and check your computer’s infection status during a previous examination. You can of course select the items to remove from the computer.
Ad-Aware

Note: The fix to translate the interface into French is available here. Or there
https://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Securite/anti-spyware/fiches/25543.html
This official translation allows you to use Ad-Aware SE in French, regardless of the version of the program used (Personal, Plus, or Pro). It is enough, after installing Ad-Aware SE, to execute this fix by clicking and installing it to benefit from the "French" option in the configuration window of Ad-Aware.
This configuration window is accessible by clicking on the icon representing a gear visible at the top of the main screen of Ad-Aware.
And this one SpyBot - Search & Destroy ... so the two work very well together... (to be executed once a week if you surf a lot)===
SpyBot - Search & Destroy searches for and removes spyware it encounters on your computer in the form of files or entries in the Windows registry. During the system check, Spybot will detect several types of unwanted software, such as Trojans and keyloggers, those programs that monitor and record what is typed using the keyboard. You will then have the option to select the spywares to remove. In case of uncertain manipulations, it will be possible to restore previously deleted keys one by one. Two modes of use are offered. The first, simple, is intended for novice users. The second, advanced, will suit experienced users wishing to perform more specific tasks. In addition to disinfecting, SpyBot also helps prevent spywares that you might download with Internet Explorer

NOTEmake a mandatory update before any disinfection using these software… (just click and wait)
Also note that with each reinstallation of XP, the problem may recur.

Same problem, it seems to me that this comes from Gmail itself, certainly a spam filter on the source, well I hope we're going to find out!!! It's been going on for over a month now.
Hello,
Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are browsers and not email software.
For your emails, do you manage them directly on the messaging sites or through software that is on your PC??

Hello or good evening
I have an ASUS eee PC family, which runs on Linux. My operator is Orange and I cannot send attachments (documents, photos...) because I don't have the attach button but I have "browse" which takes up the whole space. Knowing very little about computers, could someone provide me with a solution in simple terms
Thank you in advance (it's urgent, I need to send my thesis work; I am a student, my teacher is 45km away...)

Hi,
I am rigorously suffering from the same problem; it's enough to drive one mad. Nevertheless, I have a few lines of thought...
1/ I repaired Internet Explorer and installed all the security updates, unfortunately with no success
2/ The problem seems to have appeared when I changed my firewall. To ensure that the issue wasn't due to the new firewall (Kério Personal), I disabled it, but unfortunately with no success...
But what is going on???

Hello everyone,
I also have a similar problem: I can't send attachments on Yahoo using Mozilla Firefox, but it works with Internet Explorer.... strange, strange...
I have the impression that the problem comes from Mozilla, but I don't know for sure. I use Sygate as a firewall... if anyone has an idea, thanks.

argh, I have the same problem with my Gmail messaging, directly from the site! For a month now, it's impossible to send an attachment... and I've also had this problem since the installation of Kerio... I've tried to allow the Gmail site.
Ugh, help please!

ah well, I’m almost relieved not to be the only one... it’s impossible to know what’s going on, no attachments are going through with Gmail, even without using an email client, whether it's with Firefox or with Explorer.
Good evening, I am part of the club of those who cannot send messages with attachments, as I do not have the attach button.
I am with Orange, on a Linux system, using Mozilla Firefox. I reported the issue to ASUS (I have an ASUSEeepc), at www.asus.com and I am waiting for a response. It's been over a month since I haven’t been able to send anything, and as a student, when your course supervisor is 45 km away, it's tough.

Hello, I just read your post about the inability to send an attachment from your messaging site, I have the same problem with Yahoo (I’m using Internet Explorer 7). Have you found a solution? What is it?
Thanks
Thanks
I have the same problem with MSN Messenger and my firewall is the one from Windows; even disabling it doesn't work.
