Word 2007 Remove Automatic Line Break Indent

Hello,

I work on Word 2007. When I write a line with a bullet, and then I press enter, another bullet appears. So far, so good.

Then, when I press backspace for the first time, it removes the bullet, and a second time, the cursor goes back to the end of the previous line.

However, I would like the second time for it to return to the margin (0 on the ruler) of the line where I am. Because right now, I have to go into the menu and click several times on "decrease indent," which is a bit cumbersome...

I can't find the method for this, could you help me?

Thank you!

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 10.0

To quickly change the position of a bullet when you've just made a line break:

Tab (to the right)
Shift + Tab (to the left)

However, depending on your settings, the bullet style may change!

Hello,

Using the ribbon bullets is not a great idea because they are not styles, just a modified Normal style.
It would be better to use the true Bullet List styles.

Whichever you choose, I advise you to permanently assign a keyboard shortcut to the Normal Style (for example Ctrl+0).
This way, when you go to the next line, you can use this keyboard shortcut and it's all good.

And if you use the bullet list styles that you can easily configure (unlike the ribbon bullets), assign a keyboard shortcut to the Bullet List Style as well. With both keyboard shortcuts, you will be able to switch from normal to bullet and vice versa very quickly.

Just be careful not to use existing and useful shortcuts like Ctrl+Space which cancels manual character formatting, and Ctrl+Q which cancels manual paragraph formatting.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I’m talking about the simplest way to use bullets, that is, typing "-" or "*". I only use the ribbon to change the bullet if necessary.
And I'm always in normal style.

I use another PC where, using Word in the same way (without changing the style), it works as I asked in my first message (returning to the margin by pressing Backspace twice).

I don’t understand why it doesn’t work on this one, do you know how to configure it?

Thanks again!
