TV recording on USB stick Solved

Question

Hello, I recorded a television show onto a USB stick (Pink Floyd night) on Direct Star, the recording worked well since I can play it back on the TV. However, things get complicated as I want to transfer it to my PC to burn it onto a CD, but there’s no video, just a folder containing:
a PVR file and five IZARC BIN archive files! How can I convert them into "normal" video? Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, your TV is equipped with a copy protection system that prevents recordings from being played on another device, which is quite common these days.

If you want a recorder that doesn’t encrypt recordings so you can play them on a PC, I recommend the following products:

Hello, I don't quite understand your question, personally I just had to select "open with VLC." If you don't have VLC, try all the modes.

I still seem to have recorded football matches from a digital terrestrial decoder and watched them on my PC. The only particularity is that the match was split into about ten folders.

Aside from rewatching them on the TV where I've recorded this show, I can't do anything else with them (share, lend, watch on a big screen, etc.). It's stupid!!! :)

Hello,

Indeed, most devices now have their codec (.bin, .TS, .DVR, etc.).

A .bin recording on one TV should allow it to be played on another TV as long as they share the same .bin codec.

I haven't been able to find the trick to play .bin files on a PC, with VLC or otherwise. However, I have a Méliconi TNT decoder that records in .TS, and I can play them on a PC with VLC, except that the show is cut into pieces (several sub-files).
Additionally, I have a second Méliconi TNT decoder (No. 2) of the same type, so I can play recordings from the other decoder (No. 1), since they use the same .TS codec.

What I still don't know: On a TV with PVR functionality, and thus integrated TNT, connecting an external TNT decoder via the SCART should allow recording a show while watching another channel on the TV.

The best solution aside from a hard drive is a DVD recorder, accepting DVD + RW - like the LG RCT689H (LG-Ericsson). The advantage of the +RW media is that it doesn't need to be formatted before use; it also doesn't need to be finalized and can be played at any time on another DVD player.
