[WORDPRESS] [CONTACT FORM 7] error message

Hello,
I am using the contact form 7 plugin (version 3.1) under Wordpress 3.3.1.
I have two forms, a classic contact form and another form for quotes. Both worked well since the beginning of January.
But since last Thursday (02/02/2012), I have been getting this error message:
"Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method."
This is the error message that appears when AKISMET detects the form as spam (I have already tried disabling AKISMET, without success).
I searched for solutions online, apparently it would come from the email sending by wordpress via the PHP mail function. So I followed this solution:

I installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin, it is correctly configured (the test message is sent successfully).
And here lies the confusion, after following all the steps my forms work correctly under firefox and chrome, but the error message persists under IE, Opera, and Safari.

Does it work on Firefox for you? Or on IE? Could someone please test it on their end?
It should be noted that this may be due to the latest update of the plugin. Are there any others experiencing the same issue as mine?
