HP 5550 not printing

Hello
My printer isn't printing.
When I start a print job, nothing happens.
The orange light is flashing continuously even though the cartridges are functional; I had them checked.
When I unplug and replug the printer, it makes the normal connection sound and moves the cartridge bar normally, which makes me think it's not broken?
Maybe it's my driver; I downloaded 3 drivers from the internet (Windows Millennium) with no change, but I have no way of knowing if these drivers work.
Does anyone know this problem?
Thanks in advance
Nathalie
Configuration: windows millennium

What does the orange indicator correspond to?
    Cartridges? Paper?

According to the notice, it is the button: SYMBOL AND STATUS LIGHT OF THE PRINT CARTRIDGE
"The status light of the print cartridge lights up or blinks when a cartridge requires service"
But I took the printer to a cartridge vendor who checked them for me, the cartridges are flawless and move correctly when the cover is opened.
      Any idea?

      Thanks a thousand times

Have you tried with other cartridges? Clean the contacts well.
