SATA to USB external hard drive motherboard?

Hello,

I have a 2TB Seagate Expansion Drive.

Last night, I wanted to plug in my hard drive when the mini USB came loose from its slot and got lost inside the hard drive.

So, I opened the casing... The result: Impossible to repair the broken solder.

I see two solutions: Buy a bulky SATA to USB conversion kit (with all the power kit).

OR

the one that seems better to me: buy the kind of motherboard that included the USB port, power supply, etc.

But, impossible to find the name of this thing.

Here are the photos for those who know.

The reference of the "thing"

Raptor 3.5" MAIN BOARD V2R1

But it's nowhere to be found on the web and I can't find anything similar :/ I need your help to solve this problem.

Thank you in advance and have a good day.

    Hello,
from what I can see, your hard drive is connected via Pata?
What kind of computer do you have?

    Hi,

In Pata? I'm not really sure, I'm not very skilled at it. I fiddle around and most of the time I get what I want, but this time...

Actually, it was an external hard drive that I extracted from the case, then I completely tore it from its structure. I left the original connections, but the small raptor plate you see in the photos is normally clipped onto the back of the hard drive (see photo) and it's this raptor plate that includes the mini USB port and the power supply as well as the direct SATA connection to my HDD.

And here is the link to the manufacturer:

However, the issue does not come from the hard drive as already mentioned, but from the "Raptor motherboard" since the only problem is that the USB port has come unsoldered.

Hello, the docking station seems to be the most useful, but I would like to have my hard drive back to how it was before.

I saw on some forums in English that you just need to buy RAPTOR motherboards (the one I have taken plenty of photos of) and then I would simply replace it with the broken one, which would cost me less and be much more useful!
Where can I find one? Thank you!

    Here it is:
    Raptor 3.5"_MAIN BOARD_V2R1

    Then some numbers below:
"a logo "RU"" with the r reversed then

    2009/01/12 BTC-202 B
    94V-0^
    E220370

and by the way, do you think this docking station will work (in case the board is unavailable)

WOW, it's more expensive than the price of the entire hard drive: I'm going for the docking station which will ultimately be the cheapest and the best

Is this one compatible with my hard drive, do you think?

(My hard drive is the 2TB version)

    Best regards,
and thank you for your answers, yes they are helpful to me :)

Normally, after that, you need to be careful about the number of inches of your HDD and your dock!!! =)

The dock appears to be a 2.5" right? :)

Where can I find this for the hard drive? (not the case but just the disk)

Ha ok :) It's not a big deal :) I'll look into it, worst case I'll buy it and if it's not that, it will definitely be a 3.5" ^^ So thank you for everything :P

You just helped a member of the CCM community :D and I thank you very much :D

      Hello J-Lian.
I know this post is a bit old, but I have exactly the same issue as you; unplugging the USB port from the HDD did the same thing as it did for you.
So I wanted to know if the dock works for the HDD???
      Thank you.
