Fujitsu Siemens laptop: No startup

Hello everyone,

So, a year ago I bought a second-hand Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xa 2528 laptop. Until today, I hadn't encountered any particular issues; everything was working perfectly, even yesterday. But today has turned out to be the day of the problem: black screen and CD drive issues.

When I start the computer, the fan kicks in, the lights blink as usual, but the screen stays black and frozen. No signs of operation. Also, the CD drive is having some issues; it makes noise at regular intervals, every 10 seconds, as if it’s trying to read a CD while it's empty. This noise is synchronized with a light that blinks on the computer, which represents a little CD with a box on top.

I’ve left it running for almost an hour without any improvement to note! I shut it down properly during the last use, by which I mean through the Windows menu. No updates loading, nothing, and now it's doing this >.<"

Anyway, I don’t know what to do; before taking it to a repair shop with my dad, I hope to get some advice from you ;)

Thank you for helping me as much as possible,
Best regards

Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 535.7

    Hello,

Can you access the BIOS setup?
If so, you will probably need to repair Windows by booting from the CD (change the boot order in the BIOS or use the F8 key at the beginning of the boot).

Otherwise, try removing the power (remove the battery and cord), press the power button for 10 seconds.
Reconnect the battery and power and try to restart.

Most often, the Delete key (but it could be something else) that you press several times (or once if you see the message at the bottom of the screen) continuously during boot.
If you find yourself in a settings screen, it means that the motherboard is okay (here you can choose to boot from the CD first. To exit without making any changes: Escape), and likely Windows is faulty.

Okay, except that the screen doesn't turn on, no matter what I do...

Try to boot with the Windows CD inserted.
